Family Ski Holiday
Reviewed By Dogwash362Have just returned from a late season ski holiday staying at this hotel and our experience was excellent. Firstly all the staff that we encountered were polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean, well set out and much better than many ski resort hotels. Swimming pool was also great for us after a day's skiing. Easy transport access into Chamonix via a bus or train both of which have stops right by the hotel. Tip for those skiing in the Chamonix area, staying at this hotel and looking to take lessons, book with ESF at Argentiere as opposed to ESF Chamonix as much more convenient to get to in the morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

Excellent location
Reviewed By kptj2007Nothing but praise for this hotel. We had an upgrade to a slightly bigger suite that also had a balcony. The room was spacious with a clean bathroom and a good shower. There was a bluetooth speaker in the room as well, which we made use of. In the afternoons the sun was on the balcony, overlooking the square, and even though the air temperature was only about 9 degrees, it was warm enough to sit outside, in fact it got very hot in our winter clothes. The reception staff were all so friendly and helpful. We got stuck trying to book a train back to Geneva as the ticket machine in the station was telling us there was nothing available but the staff at the hotel booked us on to the bus (Flixbus), which we picked up from the nearby bus station and it only cost €3!!! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Annecy. Everything was within walking distance, the station, the old town and the lake as well as the shopping centre and supermarket.

Located in the valley of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the Residence Vallorcine Mont-Blanc features 53 cosy one to three bedrooms apartments, a wellness centre including a swimming pool, a sauna, a fitness room and a SPA by Cinq Mondes. Free WiFi is available throughout the property as well as free private indoor parking. Every apartment includes a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a nespresso coffee machine and a fully equipped kitchen. The residence has ski-to-door access and is a 1-minute walk from Vallorcine gondola. Geneva Airport is 105 km away. The Residence has the Green Key Eco Label and is open all year.

From the photos and the look of the place it really did initially meet expectations but just a little scratch below the surface and bam the amount of unprofessionalism is profound. Unhelpful concierge. Nowhere to eat. No restaurant within close proximity. No available bottled water onsite. The spa is a children's play area not a relaxation zone with a cold pool and no towels, gowns or slippers to used due to a washing machine issue. A lot of confusion as to what our Nature Box gift included many many many hidden charges ontop of the price paid for the Nature Box. We won't be visiting again nor would I recommend.

Reviewed By Huongle24Before arrive we worried a bit reading some review on this place about noise and services attitude but then we were completely satisfied with services here. Big thanks to Melany who took care of us kindly guiding through all facilities and bringing very nice breakfast in next morning with the best croissants and baguettes . Steam bath was gorgeous, all stuffs were good quality. But honestly there is something can be added to make it all perfect to be 5*, for example a piece of cheese comes with breakfast, the kitchenwares could be cleaner. Anyway we really enjoyed staying here and would do it again when there is a chance.

Reviewed By gerryb110Stayed for 5 days. The apartment was simple, stylish and exceptionally clean and well maintained. The service provided was excellent with on time meeting upon arrival and helpful handover. The towels and linen were super and the underfloor heating worked really well on a couple of cold and windy days. Highly recommended for a stay in the beautiful area perfect for cycling, walking etc. Super - many thanks

Reviewed By DavidK8388The rooms are OK, however didn't feel so safe. There were constantly shady men drinking beer in the parking lot. Breakfast was normal in french standards. Cleaning service is not daily. The hotel is located 15 minute walk from restaurants and town center. Overall it's OK for a budget room for a few nights.

Reviewed By leuveenExcellent place to stay if you value having your own kitchen and don't mind commuting to Geneva. The place has everything you need, is quiet and discreet, the staff is helpful and its located 5 mins from a direct tram to Geneva (it takes about 30 mins to get to the city centre). The rooms are spacious and clean, I really appreciated having both a table and a desk.

Style over substance
Reviewed By PluscardenWe stayed in "Le Gold" First of all the plus points. The location is ideal in the centre of the old town near all the shops and restaurants despite which it is very quiet at night. Communication with the owner is dreadful, I tried booking via the message board on their own website but got no reply. Finally contacted Ludavine by telephone and made a booking which she confirmed by text which promptly got lost amongst all my other texts with no heading to search and retrieve. Two weeks before I tried e mailing again and again and also telephoning with no response. I then e mailed a cancellation and booked elsewhere. Imagine my surprise when the night before arriving I got a text ( again) giving me the door code( but no address). I telephoned and was told she never got any e mails although they were all sent to her website. To cut a long story short we took the booking but lost 160 euros deposit on the replacement apartment. The design is indeed chic but looking tired with skirting boards coming off the walls, a dripping shower 3 feet from the bed which was like some form of water torture and (which I texted the owner about having realised that e mails don't work) no indication or information on wi-fi I assumed there was none but may have been mistaken. Nespresso machine but with generic pods half of which did not work and light bulbs which needed replacing. The owner arrived on the second day and was very charming, she again denied getting my text and said to push the shower control harder! That did not work. Payment was by CASH. The impression left was a lack of professionalism no written or e mail confirmation no receipt for payment and very poor communication. In fairness we did get a 40 euro discount, one third of what we lost. The concept is good but alas in its current form it is style over substance.
