Nice Boutique Hotel, Walking Distance to the Beach

Reviewed By california_usa2020_

We stayed here for 1 night whilst visiting Deerfield Beach – the hotel is nicely located less than a 5min walk to the beachfront and local shops, bars and restaurants in what seems like a residential area. The hotel had ample free parking out front. Check in was easy and we proceeded to our ground floor room. The hotel room was spacious and included all the expected amenities, including a TV, Fridge and Tea/Coffee facilities and a safe. The bathroom seemed to be recently renovated and was nicely decorated, however still included a rather old and insecure looking slatted window, which ruined the look of the bathroom and made it feel a little unsafe being on the ground floor – please change this as it would make the entire room much more modern. The room was also quiet and we had no disturbances whilst staying. The pool in the hotel was great – a good size and deep and included nice loungers and cabanas to relax in, with pool towels available. The hotel grounds were nicely kept. We would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in Deerfield Beach.

The room smells worse than the toilet in its worst. Towel holder fell down is we came in, and hair was in the bed. They have putted some effort to have the towels as in the picture and cleaned the surfaces you see at first. But the smell says that something has been forgotten. Overprized.

This hotel is not looking for repeat customers. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with a long wait with no apologies. You are squeezed into a tight corridor of other weary travellers trying to check into rooms while the hotel staff attend to the phones seemingly indifferent to the needs of the customers. The room was promised to be full of cookware and kitchen utensils. There were none to be found. Eventually two days later after repeated requests we received a box with 2 cups,2 plates 2 pots etc. The issue was I booked a room for three. Then we discovered the microwave was broken another 4 calls later and 2 days our microwave was replaced. The bikes are rusted out. One of the tires were flat and one the chain kept popping off again no empathy or apologies from the staff in the product they are providing. Despite this we inquired about moving to the blue swan and extending our vacation for a month...however no one got back to us despite me leaving my contact information. So we decided to leave as my frustration with the level of service exceded my wish to be close to the beach...While we were there one of the pools was closed down by the health department and also when we were having breakfast the florida health department arrived and the breakfast was moved the following day. I really think with the way they are running this business they are not looking for repeat customers just hoping new customers will keep coming look somewhere else...

Sleep on the streets, BEWARE

have been everywhere and we have never stayed at a more disgusting dump than this one. It was so bad I let them have the money for the 2nd night plus the parking plus the resort fee. I love that term resort fee it is such an oxymoron in this case it's unbelievable look at the pictures that I have attached. This dump is a step up from sleeping on the street in the gutter maybe that's a big maybe. Run down does not begin to describe this dump. The charge you upwards of $100 a night then they charge you to park there then they charge you a resort fee. Parking there is charged but the guarantee of parking is not there. If you decide to leave and someone from around the area simply takes your spot there's nothing you can do about it they let anybody and everybody park there because the city doesn't tow. What they tell you is you can park at any of the other 11 shacks that they have and own under their umbrella and they hand you a parking map so I guess if you find a spot 3 blocks away you're good to go that's their version of a guarantee of parking. I was in the office 3 times and and all 3 times a different person had a different problem.Ours was getting the shower to have hot water and kindly they sent a maintenance guy over to stand there with his hand in the shower and show you that sweet spot that gets the shower to actually run hot water and I'm not making that up. The pictures I post will tell you the rest about this joint. If you stay there it's your problem. BEWARE!

Worse then you can imagine. It’s an old condo building trying to be a hotel. Elevators broken, lobby is in disrepair, literally water falling from the ceiling into a bucket in the lobby. Place looks like it’s been banged up pretty bad. Dealing with caretaker is nightmare. Please don’t stay there, take your money to a real hotel not this wannabe ABNB. I would give it zero stars if I could. Entire experience was aggravation and disappointment.

Clean Resort, Friendly Staff

Reviewed By CoastalDreamer70

We had a nice stay at Wyndham Santa Barbara the last week in May 2022. If the beach will be the main attraction of your stay, the Santa Barbara is clean and the staff is friendly. It worked out well for our relaxing girls trip. Suite: We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite on the 10th floor. The master bedroom was spacious with a private balcony, DEEP whirlpool tub, mini fridge and wet bar in the bedroom area, and a full private bath with a decent sized walk in shower. The second bedroom was adequate with the second full bath across the hall that mirrored the private bath in the master. This worked out well for my friend and I as we both had our own private space. There was NOT a regular bathtub in this unit. The open kitchen/dining/living area seemed cramped and featured a couch and chair that were not incredibly comfortable and dining table for 6. There was a bar in the kitchen but no stools? The kitchen had basic cooking supplies and dishes. The living area also had a balcony that had a view of the ocean and shoreline between two buildings across the street, as well as a view of the intercoastal at the rear of the property. Both balconies were of decent size and had two chairs and a side table. Public Beach access was across the street or through the sister resort about a block away. Amenities: there were basic paper products supplied and small “sample” sized toiletries, as well as dishsoap, coffee, lemonade packets and a package of popcorn. There was an icemaker in the refrigerator and the bin was full of ice upon our arrival. Linens we also provided and the resort provided 5 beach towel cards that you could use at the front desk to get towels to use at the pool and beach - however, these were regular sized bath towels. There were TVs in each bedroom and one in the living room with satellite service cable and a hairdryer supplied in the bathroom. Resort: This is a really sleepy resort. There are no onsite resort amenities other than a small pool area with lounge chairs and a room with a few games and computers. There is no food on site. However, you do have access to the amenities at Royal Vista. The resort was clean and most staff we encountered were friendly. The front desk staff even printed our boarding passes for us and stored our luggage after check out while we waited on our flight! As with most Wydham resorts the consierge badgered us about attending a “presentation” and could be pretty insistent and forgot to give us our wristband “keys” to unlock our room and other areas after hours. The resort is secure and access after 11pm is by keycard/wristband only. Only a few negatives about our stay was only one working elevator during our entire 5 night stay and on a few occasions neither elevator was working resulting in some guests having to climb 10 flights of stairs! As well as the only designated smoking area (a small bench) being located right in front of the resort where guests had to walk in. I’m sure non smokers and smokers alike would have preferred the designated smoking area be located somewhere a little more suited for everyone. Location: The area is mostly resorts and high rise residences. There is no nightlife, shopping, or attractions really close. For these things you would need a car or uber. The Dive resturaunt is across the street at the Beachcomber and offers a great ocean view on the sand at a price. Just a block down the street is a small shopping area with a convenience store, beach gift shop, and Stingers resturaunt and bar. Across the street is the sister resort, Royal Vista, which has a tiki bar on the beach that closes at 8pm and the Bucket List Cafe which serves Starbucks coffee, hamburgers/sandwiches, and sweets to carry out. Behind the resort is the intercoastal waterway where you can sit on benches and watch the boats and water and a beautiful sunset in the evenings. Trasportation: If the beach is the main attraction for your stay, a car is not necessary. Pompano Beach had a service called Circuit which was small electric vehicle that transported up to 5 passengers at a time that ran as far south as the Santa Barbara and north to the lighthouse park on the A1A and over to the Publix area on Atlantic Ave. Download the app and request a ride to your destination and we never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. It is a free service that encourages tips and the drivers are very friendly. They will take you to Publix and pick you up with your groceries. We Ubered from and to the FLL airport for about $40 - $45 +tip each way which took about 30-40 minutes. We did not miss a car for the rest of the trip due to the Circuit service. However, if you want more dining options, shopping, or entertainment, you will need a car or hire an Uber for most things. The Circuit service stops running around 10PM. Dining/Entertainment: There are very few options within a short walk of the resort. Dive at the Beachcomber across the street ($$$), The Bucket List Cafe at the Royal VIsta, Stingers and a small selection of fresh breakfast sandwiches/muffins at the convenience store in the small shopping area. We visited all 4 and were not disappointed. The breakfast sandwiches and muffins were good at the convenience store, the pizza and service was good at Stingers (and you can smoke at the outdoor tables), the hamburgers were good at the Bucket List Cafe. The food at DIve is a bit pricy but you get a great view and live, laid back, entertainment. Other options are available by using Circuit transportation, Uber or a car at the pier and Atlantic Ave.
