Cool Pines, Excellent Camp Hosts!

Reviewed By Owen50

We stayed from Wednesday to the following Monday in our Camper Van. The camp hosts cleaned the restrooms daily (twice during the weekend!). These were the cleanest pit toilets I have EVER experienced in my many years of experience. Somewhat primitive camping (no electric, roads are unpaved and can be a bit rough; especially after heavy rains). Every spot was taken Friday to Sunday afternoon. During the week-days, it was nearly empty (we were the only ones in our loop until Thursday night). The area is beautiful and peaceful.

Cabins and Cookies

Delicious food in a rustic atmosphere

Between the 6 of us we had both calzones and chili dogs. Both were tasty and filling plus by accident an extra meat calzone was brought which the waitress graciously gave to us as she said she couldn't sell it. Of course we also had to try the cookies and I can highly recommend the pumpkin nut, chocolate chip and the one that looks like a flower and has small cookies made from all the different kinds offered. Two in our group had the hot cider and it was excellent also. Great place to eat in the tiny town of Summerhaven.

Camp Host Ruined it

Reviewed By sahuaritaMom

We had rented 3 camp sites for our family. We used the middle campsite as our home base. The camp host drove up to our site after we had been there about 2 hours We were told 2 cars per site, which was fine. We were told multiple times that we weren’t parked right. There are no parking lines. The third time we were told all dogs on a leash. Now we did have two of our 6 dogs total, off leash, though they stayed within our camp even as people approached. The other dogs were teathered as we knew they would go out of the campsite. So we teather our other 2 dogs. Then the we saw the host’s dog without a leash. We were loading 3 vehicles to take down to the lake, it is obvious we are loading. Kids are putting ice chest, fishing gear in the card. Here comes camp host again that we can’t “park”. We weren’t parking! Then as we leave, we pull vehicles from the other campsite to load them. Here comes camp host again. Honestly felt as though we were being harassed by the multiple stops to correct our parking, in the dirt. With no markers

A Glorious 3 days at Whitetail Campground.

We had our third extended-family camping trip at the Whitetail Campground this weekend, Space 2. The campground hosts were nice and patient. Everything is clean and orderly. There's plenty of electrical outlets. The tent sites are rock-hard sand so make sure your air mattress has its holes all patched up! Parking can be a bit tight.

5. Showers Point Group Campground
