Minne Teepee Resort

Small friendly family resort on beautiful Woman Lake and IXL Lake. Six brand new lakeside Log Cabins and one wonderful lakeside rental house. Free boats, free Wi Fi Internet, free canoes and kayaks, lovely swim beach, safe boat harbor, nice playground, and friendly evening campfires.

Super nice high bed count cabins, great location, nice extras, no gouging here!

The cabins are newer (~10 years), well appointed, well stocked, and set up well for many guests (7 beds in #4 for example) which is rare. The location is on the southeast corner of the lake in Bunge Bay. You can fish nearby from the free, included boats (unless the wind howls from the north/NNE!). Gary is a great host with 30+ years experience on THIS lake. Having access to IXL Lake is a total bonus (bass fishing). I can't wait to go back...probably mid September!

If I understand right, this resort has been here a long time but is under new ownership since last fall. I’ll mention the good things first. Owners are very accommodating and friendly. They gave us an upgrade for the same price (because I begged and because it was a slower time of year for them) For the most part the cabin was very clean and very well stocked. Our cabin had a huge deck with a dock out front. If you have a boat there’s an easy way to put it in the water and then you have your own dock in front of your cabin. (I believe all cabins had this) The resort was quiet due to the time of the year. For wildlife I saw loons, chipmunks, squirrels, a deer, vultures, Bald eagles, little song birds and my favorite was a great blue heron. This location is so easy to get to and from Hackensack. Once you turn off the main road you do not have to drive for miles to get to the resort. We had windows shut tight due to temps being low and the cabin was very tight and quiet. Sleeping was good…beds and bedding were clean. On the down side there were some housekeeping issues from the ceiling fans up. The blades on all the fans were quite dusty and the sills in the high windows that faced the lake were very cob-webby. Luckily we didn’t need to run the fans and even with the webs we only saw two spiders. After all we were at the lake and it was end of season. There’s a gas fireplace for heat and it works really well. The thermostat didn’t work but Adam, the owner, came over and showed us how to use it manually. The ceiling light didn’t work in my room but I made due with a couple of little bedside lamps. The shower shelf was kind of gummy and someone had left some soap, etc. in the upper wire basket. Overall, it was a beautiful resort…friendly, helpful people. Thanks Erica and Adam! Best Wishes to you. I will definitely recommend.

Cedar Bay Resort

BEST OF THE LAKE COUNTRY IN A QUIET SETTING

Reviewed By BobW75087

Cedar Bay is a good ol' fashioned 'Mom & Pop' northern Minnesota resort; four older well-maintained cabins set in a well-treed lakeshore setting off a dead-end road, with a beautiful little sand beach for the kids if you bring them.Typically, the crowd at this resort are those that come to enjoy the outdoors and lake experience, with the modern conveniences of nice little cabin, indoor toilet facilities, etc. The resort has some beach toys (paddle boats, waterbugs, etc) and canoes available for guest use, and also rents rowboats and motor-boats for fishing. There is a nice little fish house nearby so you can clean your catch, if you get lucky. The lake (Widow Lake) is also on the small side at 190 acres, but that's the best kind if you are seeking quiet and relaxation -- NO 'cigar boats' racing around, but we have seen one or two jet skis in the past few summers. It is perfect for a small boat/motor (available at the Resort) or for a canoe or small sailboat. Fishing is OK; mostly bass and panfish these days, but occasionally a walleye will show up (the majority of those seem to have been 'cleaned out' by commerical quides and their parties in the lake's heyday). The current owners, George & Darlene Robinson, have had the place since 2000 and keep it up nicely. They are also two of the nicest folks you could meet, and usually more than willing to help out with anything youmight need. Each cabin has a picnic table and grill, so you can enjoy a nice grilled steak or burger, or make a picnic out of it for visiting friends or relatives. By way of "fair notice," I should mention that we have stayed there for nine years running and it's always been a great experience. A comfortable place for a lake vacation

Reviewed By Patrick J

It is on Ten Mile Lake. That is my favorite fishing lake in the U S. It is a cozy cabin with boats available and close to towns for meals as well as cooking in the cabins. It is way north , a plus to many as it is not "cityfied" at all.
