Reviewed By Venantius VBendula is a the best experience if you want to meet the real African life. Bendula is owned by the German lady Renate Thomas. She has lived there for more than 15 years. The place is run by local people, Mamadou, his wife Mariama. Plenty children around to make breakfast very joyful. Singing, drumming, dancing around campfire in the evening. The huts are clean. Two family huts are added now, ideal for family with children. You can cook in the kitchen if you like, or order food made by Mariama. Bendula has 5 huts, located in a small forest in the village of Tujereng. Waking up by the birds' singing is a lust to the ear. The beach is a 15 minutes' walk.Tujereng is 30 minutes from the tourist Senegambia area. Easy reached by local bushtaxi (very cheap). Airport transport can be arranged by Renate, I would highly reccommend this. If you want the off the beaten track African experience: Bendula is the best place to stay. Don't expect 5 stars luxury, but who would want that? it is the real experience with nature and local people that makes your holiday unforgettable. I have come back to Bendula already 7 times!

Evergreen Eco Lodge is located on the south coast of The Gambia. Four stylish round houses and 2 budget houses to choose from. Fully solar equipped, we work with the ethos of responsible tourism. Located just off the southern coastal highway on the beach side with a 15 min walk to the beach and close walk to the highway where buses are readily available to take you to Senegambia tourist strip only half an hour away. Easy access if you need a taxi. Gambia is a small country nothing is too far. Our price includes room, breakfast, evening dinner and drop off and collection from the local beach. Airport transfers can be arrange on booking.Snacks and drinks available through out the day. We are member of ASSET, association of small enterprises in tourism.

Lime trees, grapefruit trees, other trees, bouganville in four colours, birdsong, good food, warm and openhearted owners and friendly dogs. And all of that with a clean conscience (well, except for the flight). We spent a week at the lodge and after day one felt like we were HOME. We were the only guests there and were treated like family. Our five year old daughter

Reviewed By janejanemarshallThank you team oasis for our wonderfull stay, we enjoyed every minute, very relaxing. We had a more then complete breakfast, with fresh fruit. Everything was clean. I have a difficult back but I slept very well. Very comfy matrasses. Our agreement stays, we will be back in March.

Friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful garden where they pick all the fruit and almost all the vegetables that they cook with. We stayed with our two kids, 1 and 8 years old. It was 20 min walk to a beautiful beach and we got a ride almost all the way down if we wanted to. The house we stayed in had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, nothing fancy but clean and functional. We had lots of delicious african food but also some things we like from home, like porrige for breakfast! :)
