The Homestead Inn

The Homestead Inn is awesome! Rooms are quaint, cozy, and immaculate! Rooms include high speed internet, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, flat screen tv with DVD players, hairdryer, and toiletries. Some rooms have a fireplace and/or jacuzzi. We are located in a beautiful setting, just half a block from downtown, and less than 5 miles from the ski slopes and all of Blowing Rock’s other main attractions; including: the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian State University, Tanger Outlets, etc. We are known for our award winning gardens and flowers and provide a swing, gazebo, picnic table, fire pit, dog walk area, and grill area in the middle of it for all of our guests. Our guests coined our nickname “your home away from home”, for a reason. We hope you’ll come stay and discover your own home away from home.

We stayed for 2 nights with our adult daughter. This was one of the few inns that had a twin bedroom. We had the entire 3rd floor - 2 bedrooms, bath and sitting area. Lots of space. Breakfasts are fabulous and innkeeper so friendly. Lovely front porch too. Warm cookies and wine late afternoon too!!!!

We stayed in a room in the hotel-style Little Echo behind the main house. It was great for us because we could park right in front of the room and there was little walking and no stairs to our room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and there was a microwave and fridge. It was foggy most our stay, but that added to quaintness. when the fog lifted, there were fabulous views all around. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Room smelled bad so we left after a few hours. The smell was making it difficult for me to breathe. I didn't make a big deal of it nor did I ask for a refund of our nearly $300. Manager literally rolled her eyes when I told her why I was turning our keys in. Didn't apologize. Didn't try to make things right. Just rudely asked for their parking pass back.

Southern charm at its finest. The covered porch and outdoor seating were our favorites. Kathy, one of the owners, greeted us and made us feel right at home. They served spirits from 4-6. This was a special treat before dinner. We walked to the restaurant (Shine) for dinner. It was delicious. We returned and enjoyed a coffee on the porch. They think of every detail. We will visit again.
