What a beautiful B&B, big breakfast every morning with self made muesli and a good choice. We enjoyed it really much, for bird lovers it’s a paradise and it’s only a 10-15min walk through the bush into Nannup. A big thanks to the host’s Kerry and Mercer, we will come back:-))

Relaxing bush retreat

Reviewed By AliH_Perth

We stayed at the Koala Cottage at Fern Gulley Retreat Nannup and it’s a wonderful spot. The cottage was comfortable and has everything you require, clean and tidy. Situated between Nannup and Balingup so you are close to both towns. Lots of cute wineries in the region. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the alpacas, kangaroos and beautiful bird life. There was even a hot tub on the veranda overlooking the bush and tall trees right on the Blackwood River. It was summer so we didn’t go in the hot tub but I bet it’s amazing in winter. The pool was closed and the other side of the retreat may have seen better days but this did not impact our stay. Would like to return in winter when it’s lush and green.

Friends raved about it, I thought it was pretty average

Reviewed By absnow

Went there on Monday with 6 of us, had booked a table, the welcome was great but toilets were a long way over slippery muddy ground. It was raining and very cold but the fire put out very little heat and all of us were cold. The pencil hand written menu was presented to us, and was hard to read the writing. We ordered and were served promptly. The food was ok but not what I considered restaurant standard, The chicken parma my wife ordered was average and we felt less of a standard that can be bought at a pub for a lot less $ . I had a pate plate which had obviously been stored in a very cold fridge and as such the pate flavour was lost due to it being so cold. The others felt the food was ok but then I think they are easily pleased. I think it was below par. Wine selection was one red which was very rough and a dry white which my wife said was pleasant. These are made at the premises and were the only two on offer. The dining room was very dark cold and very very old.

Picturesque spot in Nannup

Picturesque gardens and my room was nice on the second floor. I just stayed one night, hosts were very welcoming and the provided breakfast was good. It is a nice location on the hill and an easy walk through the gardens into town right near the nannup brewery and main town centre, would recommend and stay again.

Tranquil and restoring

My two daughters and I have just had 2 fabulous nights in Duffy's Cottage. From the moment we walked in the charm had us. Everything was perfect. It wasn't long before we had the fire going and dinner cooking. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the comfort, peace and beauty of the location. The cottage is well equipped and appointed. We enjoyed walks around the garden, observing the wild life and the spa! The hosts, Judith and Dirk, are very friendly and willing to help when needed. (We had to ask for sugar for our dessert recipe!) We would love to return in future.
