The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Manila

May 11, 2023 Karren Gelb

Metropolitan Manila encompasses six cities and 12 towns. Located on Manila Bay in the South China Sea, and bisected by the Pasig River, the capital of the Philippines is historic and modern, rich and poor. A popular sight is the walled area called Intramuros. The capital during Spanish colonization, Intramuros has retained old dungeons and gunpowder rooms but added art galleries and theaters. The city is filled with museums, shops, parks and churches, plus enough nightlife to last until dawn.

Simple, rustic. Loved my stay!

Adriatico Arms is a wonderful haven for those who need a relatively budget-friendly stay that places you in close proximity to major food spots, a mall, and Luneta Park. I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights and I must say that I loved my stay. They gave me Room 204, which was just beside the 2nd floor landing. The room is relatively small, but spacious enough. I booked a Double Room, and it had a great hot/cold shower, a television set with HDMI and USB ports (great for casting your streaming videos from a phone). It also had a couple of arm chairs and a small round wooden table (which I used for my work laptop). Bathroom has no fan vent so best buy a deodorizer spray to keep it smelling nice. The room was clean. Nothing fancy, nothing frivolous, but it definitely served its purpose. Air-conditioning is great too. The hotel exudes a very rustic, homey feel. Dark wood definitely dominates the design, and reminds me in a way of some old Spanish stores and hotels. Again, simple. No frills. And I love it! No lift/elevator between floors, but the climb is so short so it's not an issue. Plus the staff are there to help, despite the pandemic climate (reduced manpower). Staff is very courteous! And while there is no regular housekeeping staff at night (reducer manpower during the pandemic), the front desk person is very accommodating with our questions. Internet connectivity is great. Not the best, for sure, but works well for the purpose I needed it for (I am able to stream movies and Netflix with almost no interruption). The hotel had a café on the ground floor and you'll see this once you enter the main door. Wasn't able to try and sample the dining experience as I am working at night and asleep for most of the day. I had my food delivered via the Grab app, and was only required to pick my delivery up from the first floor. There's a 7'11 store nearby where I got my water and snacks from. As always, I always recommend buying a spray can of lysol from the convenience store to just give the room a spray - especially your bed, regardless of what hotel you book in. This gives you extra peace of mind. Being smack right in the busy city of Manila, there's definitely a lot of street noise. Was pleased to be given a room towards the back of the hotel so there's less of that, but it's not an issue for me as I knew that I'm booking a city hotel and noise reduction will be almost impossible with such a small property. Overall, I LOVED my stay. This hotel is perfect for someone who is independent and has simple needs. Thank you to the staff who made my stay very pleasant and respected my need for privacy and to not be disturbed for anything.

A nice backpacker's hostel, clean rooms, sheets, friendly staff, very nice lounge room, good food and the best wifi that I've experienced in Manila. The location is great, can reach lots of restaurants ,bars, malls by foot. My lock broke with my stuff inside the locker box and they were kind enough to open it, damaging the box, without a charge or anything. Will definitely go there again.

Excellent hotel for it's price, has all of the amenities you normally don't expect to find from 2 to 3 star hotels. The room has a minibar to keep your drinks and your food cold (with two complimentary bottled water), it has an induction water kettle for your coffee (and of course two packets of complimentary instant coffee), the room even has its own wifi router so you'll never have to worry about your room having poor wifi reception. The free breakfast is ordered from Jollibee (which I would have bought anyway), and the hotel staff even accommodated my additional order from Jollibee. It's almost like they perfected all of the basics you would expect from a hotel (though purists might object due to the property having to order food from outside, but I love Jollibee, so I don't really care).

Too noisy!!

Reviewed By duncan c

I was supposed to stay here for 2 weeks but checked out after 7 days. The room I was in was supposed to be a deluxe room?? It was tiny!! The bathroom/shower room was minute (about 6 foot by 4foot) I was on the top floor at the front of the hotel where there is a main road with wagons and lorries barrelling past 24 hours a day, some of them even made the room shake!! So sleeping was non existent. I can't comment on the food at the in house restaurant as I never ate there. The staff were polite and was there when I arrived at 10.30pm. I'm not sure if you have to ask for your room to be cleaned or not, mine wasn't cleaned for the 7 days I was there. The location is quite a distance away from the nightlife and a good 25 minute walk away from the bay. The good thing about this hotel is that the beds are very comfy.
