Another nice stay away from it all

This hote is well outside the village and up a track with small lake. There are one or two other properies beyond the hotel and they will use the track from time to time. Otherwise it is very quite. The enire area is surrounded by forest. There is a large free car park. The rooms are in a crescent shaped building which is joined to the main building. Downstairs rooms have doors opening on to the front. SInce our last stay they have added a decking area ajoiing the restaurant where if the weather is nice they serve the evening meal. There are views of the lake from the tables. Plenty of good choices at the meal and stff were freindly and obliging. A lovely evening sitting outside in the quite. Covid19 precasuiotn were fully in place with hand sanatiers etc all there and it useful places. There also appeared to be restictions on just turning up without a booking for an evenng meal given Covid19. Breakfast was in side and would normally be a buffet. In the circumstances it was still laid out and the waitress aksed what you wanted and served you at the table, this includes drinks. Looking forward to going back at some stage. Due to TA's rules on picture size I cannot post any.

This was our second visit and it has left us with a nice problem After our previous visit, just after Hughes and Mae took over the property, we awarded them a 5 star - excellent review. Our problem is, that after this visit we need a SIXTH star in recognition of the further improvements they have made at La Pillebourdiere. The level of care and attention we received was second to none; The size, decor, and cleanliness of the room was a credit to everybody involved and to hear Hughes return with the bread each morning encouraged us to get up as the various breads were the highlights of a fantastic breakfast. It is clear that customer satisfaction is their number one priority - and they achieve it with flying colours.

Beautiful place!

We stayed here for one night at the end of our holiday to break up a long journey back to Paris CDG. We are so glad we did as it was so beautiful and had a really authentic French feel. The owner was very friendly and we were made very welcome. Our suite was amazing and just perfect for the five of us; our kids had their own room separate to ours which was great as we had lots of space and the beds were comfortable. Pool was an added bonus and the views and garden areas are lovely. Breakfast was good. Highly recommended -we wish we could have stayed longer!!

Great Spot!

We were a family of four traveling in france for 14 days. This was the first spot we stayed at. The host was very thoughtful and welcoming--she helped make dinner reservations and gave us great recommendations for tasting and tours in the area. Overall the rooms were very spacious and clean--I'm sure in the spring and summer the garden is beautiful! The BnB is walking distance to a bar, a pizza spot, a grocery store, bread shop, meat shop, and a very nice restaurant. Also, the breakfast was delicious--local cheeses, fruit, yogurt, fresh breads, crepes, french toast, and fresh coffee (this might change depending on the season). Over all we would stay again, and we would definitely recommend this bnb! Thanks you!!

Perfect, relaxing stay

We loved Marylin's and Michel's place. The kids were in heaven once they saw the pool, donkey's, soccer goal, basketball court and our accommodation. This little town has it's own castle too. We tried the local pizzeria and it was good. Our accommodation had a private parking lot, kitchen, washing machine, babyfoot, AC. Breakfast was soooooo good. If I could come back only for that, I would! Highly recommend this place!

What a lovely auberge!

Reviewed By touifi

Absolutely lovely stay! Commom areas decorated with charm and character. Our room (Havana) was so spotlessly clean with great attention put to every little detail (decoration, welcoming little message, towels, toiletries, etc) We loved the hospitality of the landladies, the amazing breakfast with local organic products in the beautiful big table of the kitchen and all this in a very decent price compared to what we paid for our other accommodation in the Loire area that were not necessarily of higher quality. On the recommendation of the our hosts we also had dinner at an amazing restaurant close by. We recommend this auberge warmly! ?
