Ontgoocheld verblijf

We payed 84,55 € per night.  For the facilities we received this was VERY expensive.  We pay less in a Parador for a much better service and facilities! We stayed in room 301 on the 2nd floor. 1/Meanness on the lighting. The light in the room was so fun you could not read. Burned light bulb did not get replaced. I used a light bulb from the hall to have some light.  You used the weakest LED lights,  a few watts more would make the difference and hardly any more consumption!! At night everything was pitch-dark, also outside. Without a torch impossible to find your car.  Although, led lights are available around the building. 2/WIFI in the room did not work. The signal was so weak most appliances(tablet/pc) did not detect a network.  You need WIFI repeaters in a hotel !! 3/TV reception only Spanish and very bad reception quality. In a 3 star hotel you expect satellite TV with international channels. 4/never received clean towels in a week. Bathroom floor never washed. The bathmat got extremely dirty. 5/breakfast only from 9am!! In a nature area where the guests want to go early to walk and see wildlife this is way too late!!!! Normal hotels serve breakfast at 7.30 or latest at 8am. 6/the hotel seemed to have been taken over by new people. The staff was still searching and learning how to serve and operate things. 7/ the hotel is infested with flies. In the room when you opened a window you got 100 flies in the room/bathroom. Horrible.  Unavoidable since there is no other ventilation. 8/The balcony was not usable.  The sooth from the chimney falls on the balcony , table and chairs.  Everything is black and dirty.

A beautiful area in the forest.

We love this family run hotel restaurant. The service is friendly and efficient and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There are ensuite facilities and Wi-Fi is available but the signal strength is not good. The menu for the evening meal gives a number of choices for local dishes and the breakfast provides tostadas, cold meats, cheese and a variety of sweet items such as magdalenas. The locality is ideal for birdwatching and enjoying the wildlife.

Delightful family run this hotel

Reviewed By susanwalsh

This simple hotel is up a steep street from the Plaza Constitution which is an action packed place! There is parking on the street at the top of Calle Martinez Falero. Our room was large with a sofa and a large double bed. We were very grateful for the heating in both the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom has a handheld shower. Everything is spotlessly clean. There is no lift or hairdrier. Gemma and her father looked after us. He does breakfast which is a simple affair of coffee juice and toastada supplemented by home made cakes. We were given a present of lovely soap made by the lady of the house . This is a great value place to stay close to the centre of Cazorla

Hotel Posada Del Cordobes

Great stay among the olive groves

Reviewed By GeoffB2014

We booked this hotel for two nights to use as a base to explore Cazorla (about 8 Km away and the lower half of the Parque Natural Sierra de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas. The location is perfect for that.. We had earlier visited Ubeda and Baeza and the hotel's location would have been fine to include a trip there as well. We were the only guest for the nights we stayed so perhaps unsurprisingly we received friendly personal service in the bar and restaurant. The hotel has been refurbished throughout so the room was superb, clean and comfortable. Aircon/heater worked well. We were given a front facing room overlooking the big car park and road but noise from the road was not a problem. Continental or cooked breakfast is available in the restaurant and there is a set menu or a la carte at lunchtime and night. Food was good and plentiful though I think we were a bit favourably spoiled by the chef! We paid 40€ per room per night including breakfast and we dined there both nights. Bar prices were inexpensive and menu de la noche was too. It is ideally located for a short stay and excellent value. I will have no hesitation in returning there and hope to do so soon when we return to visit that lovely area.

Good basic hotel good value for money

Reviewed By Cabonijntje N

This basic but clean hotel is sitauted in the lovely Cazorla. Distances in this village are not so far but the hills on which it is build are steep and there are lots of slim and steep road. Don't always trust your navigation system! This hotel is on the road that runs through the village towards the National Park, some 6 km away, in between some shops and has a hotel with restaurant just on the other side of the road. Other restaurants are a bit further away (15 to 20 min walk) The rooms offer just good but basic services, its clean. The Wifi only has a good signal in the hallway, not in the room. The beds are a bit short if you are 1.80 m as we both are. The hotel is run by two elderly women who speak no English but who does in Spain? They are very nice and friendly and have some patience if your Spanish is not that good. When you need to pay by credit card the need to get some help from a family member but it works. Breakfast is not included but for 3 euro's your having a typical Spanish breakfast: a good coffee with some toasted bread with margarine and marmelade. There is only a breakfast possible from 9 u.

Great base for fabulous walking area

Reviewed By KatyPh

We took 2 separate groups of 20 walkers here for a week each. I can see 2 very different reviews from people who were here and frankly I am amazed by the poor review. The hotel owners, Mario and Ambrosio and the waitress Puri could not have been more helpful or keen to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The food was excellent - local tasty dishes at our 3 course dinners and a great range of choice for breakfast - fruit, juice, coffee, toast, bacon, home cooked beans in a delicious sauce, sausages, eggs and pastries. Breakfast was served at 8 every morning as agreed so that we could be out walking at a good time so the hot food was cooked and placed on the table to accommodate this request. Anyone turning up late would find that the food had cooled...having said that , plates were generously refilled as required with freshly cooked replacements. The rooms were basic but clean and the beds comfortable. Any problems brought to Mario's attention were addressed although this sometimes took a little while, as is often the case in Spain. I have to point out that this is a 2 star hotel and therefore we didn't expect 5 star standards for furnishing etc. so most people were very happy with their stay. The hotel might have been 2 star but the service was definitely 5 star, and the dinners were more than adequate for a group of hungry walkers. - and judging by the way the wine bottles were emptied each night most people didn't have a problem with the wine either. The first week the weather was not very good and half of the people decided to leave a day early, after the food for dinner had been ordered for everyone and the rooms already cleaned so why anyone would expect not to pay for that day is beyond me. One hotel owner on our group said that she would have charged in full and not for half as our Spanish hosts did. This is a great base for exploring a fantastic walking area and Ambrosia can give you lots of helpful information.
