Reviewed By Mario GWe arrived to Casa Aspron by mistake thinking that it was located close to Cangas de Onis. Fortunately, our mistake gave us the opportunity to enjoy the excellent personal service and advise of Jorge and to visit the Virgin of Covadonga Sanctuary firsthand. We highly recommend consider this apparently simple but great place to stay if visiting the Sanctuary or just as night stay. However, you may have to take into consideration that the rooms do not have air conditioning that could be an issue during hot summer nights.

Nice family hotel clean and perfectly located to visit cangas and the area
Reviewed By MaaxxJust to put everything into the right context the hotels on this areas are very busy during the spring summer as the offer exceed the demand which results in higher prices… La Ercina is not cheap but not more expensive than most hotels in the areas and what is sure is that the tenant try to make you feel at home! This place is clean and provides an excellent family style service which we really appreciated. There is a place for kids to play and plenty o parking slots. Breakfast is a Spanish home style with pan con tomate, jamon iberico and sweeties such as croissant donuts etc room are comfortable enough for the use we had (sleeping). If you are looking for a headquarter while visiting this l’art of Asturias, this is the spot .

Woke to the sound of singing of canaries
Reviewed By Flashback1966We stayed at Los Texos in June 2013. This is a lovely stone built rural hotel. We were woken up to the lovingly by singing canaries. We could hear a stream in the background (when windows was open). Lovely location. When we booked, we were concerned about 'road noise' as Los Texos is on a main road, but we needed not have worried. Although it is the main road to Covadonga (lakes), no one goes where at night (as you cant see anything scenery in the dark). The road is effectively a dead end. I did not hear any motor vehicles until after 9.30 in the morning. Even then it was not busy at all. Getting There ~~~~~~~~~~~ Ignore the Sat Navigation. It took us to the wrong place. Basically you get into town of Cangas de Onis, then then drive out of town about 5km towards Covadonga (lakes). Los Texos should be on the way. You can't get lost, as there is only one road to Covadonga, so keep a look out for rural buildings along the way. Hotel / Room ~~~~~~~~~~ The hotel has a bar / restaurant. The rooms are above the hotel. It is a fairly quiet location. We had a twin room in the loft. The window in the room was fairly high up. So, we had to climb up some funiture in the shape of steps to see the view. We came late at night, so the view was not so important. They had rooms on the floor below, but I think those rooms were taken. The room was nice, had bags of character and lovely wooden beams in the ceiling. It had a rural feel. Although, it was dusty in places (e.g. TV stand). There was a lack of sockets to charge mobile phones (unless you decided to unplug the lamp). There was a fly in the room. Luckily, I travel with bug spray and found 3 flies dead by the morning. Bathroom: The bathroom was not as nice as the room. I did n't like the bathroom. Breakfast: hot beverage, toast and a plate of selection of 'pre-wrapped' biscuit/bakery. Wi-fi: We could not get Wi-fi in the room. However, we could pick up Wi-fi in the restaurant. When we asked for the Wifi code, it was a 20 digit code e.g. a7f7d9jc9djf........... Not very user friendly to type in. When we typed it in, it did not work.... We gave up. It is something every other hotilier got right. They had also turned the router off. We booked the room on the phone and they kept it for us.....

Reviewed By LondonBee83Stayed with two friends for three nights. The site itself is ok. A little cramped but flat and easy to pitch up. I arrived before my friends and after waiting for an hour and a half at 9.30pm I started to get concerned. I asked the manager if I could borrow the office phone to see if they were near (they had the tent!!!) but he said no which I felt a bit mean! The staff generally lack charm and it's not somewhere i'd stay again. The toilets are often dirty but the rest of the site is clean. Food in the cafe is poor....

Reviewed By embuduPension Casa Pepe is a good place to stay if you want to explore Picos de Europa aroun the lakes of Covadonga. The rooms have all the basics, but the beds are not very comfortable and a little noisy. But they are at a very good price and the location are excelent. You have direct acess to the road that take you to the lakes Ercina and Enol.
