Good for the Price

This hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. I wasn't expecting perfection given the price, and it wasn't, but it was decent for the price. The room was fairly clean, but it was clear they weren't spending much on maintaining the place. Overall, though, I would stay here again if in the area for some reason. Details: Comparison to others in chain: N/A Internet: 20/5, but slow ping Breakfast: I don't think there was one offered Room: Older, mostly nicely kept up, but in a bit of a cheaper way. Perfectly acceptable, though. Cleanliness: Fairly clean Bed: Older, spring, a bit painful Bedding: Typical non-chain hotel Shower: Like an old camp shower - bad shower head Hard water: Probably not? Hard to tell with that shower HVAC: Wall AC unit/baseboard Location: Fine, I guess? North of town. Noise: Loud if anything is happening in the next room, highway noise Staff: Very friendly Cost/Value: Least expensive of trip

Great location for winter activities

Reviewed By cynDC42

I really enjoyed my stay at River View. The resort was very convenient for skiing at Sunday River in the morning, then lunch at the condo followed by a 5-6 mile hike in the afternoon. I did a different hike each day, all within a 15 minute drive. There is a grocery store close by plus several great take away options. There are also great choices for restaurants and brew pubs within a 10 minute drive. This is not a luxury resort, but has everything needed for an enjoyable stay at a terrific location. The resort staff members are very responsive if you do need any help.

Hotel OK, self-service checkin a bit strange

Reviewed By mvbma

This hotel was clean and neat, plenty of hot water and a huge stack of towels in the bathroom. Beds a bit soft but slept OK. Some highway noise from passing trucks. Could use better illumination in the room for reading. No ice machine on the premises. What was strange is that we never met any hotel staff - there were none. Checkin was as they say self-service. Is this the future of hotels?
