The House Gure Lana is a traditional Basque house, Built in 1974 Genevieve and Christian bought it in July 2012. The best breakfast and one of the nicest places of our holidays
Reviewed By Swiss_kmoWe travelled through the Pays Basque and up towards Bordeaux along the Atlantic coast for our holiday and spent three days in this lovely place. This was definitely amongst our favourites. We enjoyed our room, the very nice common facilities (well equipped kitchen, outside and inside sitting area, coffee and tea facilities, even some digestives are provided free of cost.) It's a pity that it was too cold for the Swimming pool and the Jacuzzi, but we were there in early April, after all. As everyone else, we especially enjoyed the breakfast, with a different freshly cooked daily special everyday. The guide book the owner provides is very useful for finding places to eat and see, not just in the close proximity but also on the coast or in the mountain area. As this is an old farm building (you can see pictures of the status this was in before renovation in the breakfast room), ceiling heights are a bit low in some places, but my husband is close to 2 metres and where he fits, most people should have no problem at all. If we ever return to the area (and there is a lot more to see, so we might) we already know where we will stay.

She has been very helpful on any question and request I had. The rooms are newly refurbished with contemporary design, very clean and were immaculately kept at the same standard on each day of my stay. The room I stayed in had a beautiful balcony which looks over the town and lush green around. Very good bathroom. Breakfast was good. There's a restaurant right across the street, offers nice menu with selection of Basque specialities, high quality ingredients, affordable, very friendly staff and great value for the money. Overall I had a wonderful and very comfortable stay and have experienced the true Basque hospitality. Thank you very much Marie Christine.

Les petits-déjeuners sont copieux et variés avec des produits locaux. Le tout, dans une région que nous avons commencé à découvrir avec plaisir. Dating back to 1880, this old house has belonged to the family of Dr. Mendy from Irissarry since 1930. The grand-son of Dr. Mendy, Xabier, and his wife Cristina, from Brazil, will welcome you in their house to share their table and make you feel at home. All the bedrooms are different and offer wonderful views over the Basque Pyrenees. The peaceful garden will allow you a restful stay

Reviewed By JKVBWe stayed at Aire Berria for only two nights but it was wonderful. We felt very welcomed in the hotel and in the town. Christina is a wonderful host and the town is very sweet. We had a fantastic meal at the local bar, visited Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The countryside reminded us of Petaluma California only with better food.

A respectful decoration of the environment Grounds are natural materials: ardoise, marble travertin, bamboo, stone. Walls are coated with diverses colors following the subject of rooms. The reception, the dining romm are equiped with wood, wrought iron, and colonial furniture. all the origins of wooden whom they are for grounds, or furniture can arise only from forests fully qualified teachers, it is not there no place here, for materials stemming from the deforestation !

Reviewed By MhLuxembourgThat hotel is a great deal for a family. Easy access,a traditional restaurant in front of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Very well equipped. A car is needed to go to beach, markets and so on. The only think is cleaning and maintenance can be better managed.
