Reviewed By Peter KIf you are visiting the Alsace Region of France, the two-star Hotel-Restaurant Le Faude is a great stop over. It is located in the mountains at Lapoutroie, about 25 minutes above Colmar, one of the centers of the Alsace Wine Route. Nestled in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains, Lapoutroie is a center of outdoor activities, from hiking and biking to skiing. While an unassuming place, with only two stars by its name, the service and food would easily merit four hotel stars. The room was comfortable and clean, the gardens inviting, and the physical plant very nice. As I noted, I was particularly impressed by the service, which from initial greeting to final "au revoir," was friendly and helpful. I've rarely seen so many smiles in one place. The food was sensational. A "two-fork" Michelin guide restaurant, the Le Faude serves scrumptious fare in an unassuming, but correct, environment. Locally sourced ingredients ensure fresh and tasty dishes. I was blown away by the prefect crème caramel. One small issue is that according to the Trip Advisor website, the room rate we were quoted included breakfast, but it doesn't. When we pointed out this anomaly, the manager quickly rectified things. (BTW - The abundant breakfast buffet is good value at 13 Euros.)

Location of a hotel was also very good and it had all we needed, including bike garage and electric car charging station.

Reviewed By Barbara MThis hotel was one on our Horizons hiking trip itinerary. Such a delightful end to a tiring day. It was peaceful with beautiful grounds. We had wine on the patio and a visit from their friend dog (not a problem at all). We were two couples and one room had rather low ceilings but the charm outweighed that little issues. The bathrooms were nice. The view from our room was great. We were more than comfortable. The staff was very accommodating. The dinner was outstanding as was the breakfast the following morning. This was perhaps the best breakfast of our entire trip. This hotel was definitely a favorite.

Reviewed By 290ericbDuring the second week of my sons Easter holiday we stayed in the Auberge Kébespré to enjoy nature and three days of mountain biking with my 16 yo. and a friend of his in this awesome region. Found Auberge Kébespré on internet, and after comparing prices with other hotels they became favorite, based on the combination price, photos and the fact that they have the qualification "table d'hôtes". Upon arrival it became clear that "Auberge Kébespré" would easily become our homebase from which we could start three day's of MTB-ing. The apartment we got was very comfortable, offering a parents bedroom with large bed, living with kitchen, separate toilet, bathroom with shower and washing table, kids bedroom with two single beds. The offer was half board. So breakfast was what you can expect in France, croissants (of course !), pistolets (bread rolls), toast, an egg, charcuterie, cheese, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. ... Diner brought us some real Alsace cuisine. We missed out on the Flammekueche, but the tartiflette and the veal Alsace style were much appreciated by young and old. As biking base I can add that the location is ideal, also for hikers, road cyclists or just those who appreciate the relaxing effects of being in nature with an exceptional view on the North side of the mountain. Cyclists and MTB-ers should be well trained, whenever it slopes up, its really sloping up ... ;-) Road cyclists can expect excellent asphalt roads, and, as for MTB-ers, cycling and MTB tours are available on internet and can be downloaded to your GPS in GPX format. Last, but not in the least ..... I have to recommend the very friendly family Verchere who is running the hotel. Whatever you ask, shelter for the bikes, a garden hose to clean them, local map, advice on the choice of the excellent Alsace wine, etc. ... ... a smile attached to a solution is always available. This very friendly family is the cherry on the cake of this mountainside hotel .... I could go on describing interiors, the things to see on the mountain, relics from WW1, the story of the "Etang du Devin" how it was formed in glacier times, it's role during WW1, "Mountainbike Tour Tete des Faux", etc. .... Go there and enjoy yourself !

L'hôtel/Restaurant "À La Bonne Truite" est situé dans la vallée de Kaysersberg ( elu village préféré des français 2017 )au cœur du parc national des Vosges. Il dispose d'un restaurant/bar doté d'une terrasse et se trouve à seulement 12 km des pistes de ski du Col du Bonhomme. Les chambres de l'hôtel À La Bonne Truite sont pourvues de lambris en bois et d'une télévision. Chacune d'elles comprend une salle de bains privative avec douche et toilettes. L'hôtel sert un petit-déjeuner dans le restaurant, le patron également chef de cuisine propose également des plats préparés avec des ingrédients traditionnels de la région pour le dîner. Vous pourrez vous détendre dans le bar adjacent et y faire une partie de billard. Situé entre Kaysersberg et le lac Blanc, cet établissement bénéficie d'un emplacement idéal pour pratiquer les activités locales telles que le ski et la randonnée, ou encore découvrir la route des vins. Les villes de Colmar et de Riquewihr sont à 15 km de route de l'hôtel.

It is a very nice renovated old farm dated 1766 located at the top of a hill with a fabulous view on the surrounding mountains. There is an outdoor pool and a sauna for after skiing or hiking.
