Charged Extra 60$ for lost feather pillows
Reviewed By Torontoterry27We arrived late on Sun April 3 at almost 11 pm, our #1 concern at hotels is Air foam pillows & pet free room, my wife has allergies to feathers, & pet dander. We asked for air foam pillows & the next day charged for two missing pillows. The woman checking us in, was stressed to comply with finding the pillows at this late hour. IHG’s website doesn’t allow for special requests in advance of stay. My wife placed the Feathered pillows outside the door, The pillows were not at the door in the morning so we assumed they were picked up by housekeeping & taken back into supplies. Our express bill under the door was for $119 but on our credit card it was billed 179, I saw on the IHG website that we were charged $60 for other revenue. I called the hotel, and speaking to the manager, she said she had to check the video to see who took them. I would of brought the feather pillows to the front desk but I was suffering from an runny nose. Our next night we stayed Best Western, and they didn’t have feather pillows at all, IHG shouldn’t have feather pillows.

Reviewed By 319alwSome of the walls were in need of repair, but everything was clean and breakfast was very nice. The check in was easy and luggage carts were readily available. Just need to fix the walls in the bathroom and it would be a 5 star review.

Reviewed By jctusaFirst of all, let me say that my hotel/motel stay is basically limited to travel back and forth to Florida, so I’m just looking for a clean comfortable, good free internet, and reasonably priced room. Not interested in amenities that others might require. I drive 10 or 11 hours and just want to get out of the car and relax. I check in around 4:30 and Harold was very pleasant and helpful, I go up to my room 225 and the smell of smoke immediately hits me when I enter the room. I’m not a wallflower when it comes to cigarette smoke and thought maybe I booked a smoking room instead of my usual non-smoking. At the time, I didn’t notice the no smoking sign on the back of the door, but I remember an incident someone else had at the Saganing Casino in Michigan, where a lady was charged with room cleanup because they found cigarette butts in the trash can and she insisted they weren’t hers. I didn’t want someone to say that I smoked in the room, so I went downstairs and talked again to Harold. Once again, Harold was excellent and offered to make corrections, but I said that wasn’t necessary, so he just noted on a tablet of my concern. Back to the room and I was very pleased. The room was spacious, had the refrigerator, microwave ironing board and iron, hairdryer and anything else a person might need. I especially liked the hub with extra sockets and extra USB ports – there never seems to be enough plugs so I’ve been bringing my own power strip. Now it’s time to close the drapes and hit the hay, I can sleep during a thunderstorm, lights on, TV blasting without a problem, but when I wake up, which is usually after 2 or 3 hours, I need total darkness to get back to sleep. There comes my issue with the room. The drapes aren’t designed to close! This is the first motel ever, that didn’t have some sort of blackout curtains let along ones that closed. So I’m up tossing and turning since 2:30 and decided to write my review. If it weren’t for the lack of curtains, it would be a 5-star review and definitely a place I would reserves again next year. The bed is comfortable, the walls seem thick and insulated, and I have yet to hear a door close or slam. There is a nice indoor pool and also an exercise room, not to mention the water pressure is great I did talk to the front desk when leaving and asked if the rooms had curtains that closed other than the sheers. He (not Harold) said yes they all do and then I showed him my first picture and said this was my room at 2:30 am and he said you have to close the curtains. I said yes, that is what I thought, but as you can see in the second picture, the curtain rod doesn’t go the width of the window. “Oh, I’ll make a note of it.” I’m sure these notes end up in the circular file somewhere. If you are checking in and sensitive to parking lot lights lightening up your room, I suggest you add a sleep mask to your overnight bag.

Reviewed By AuthorCathyJacksonAn okay hotel experience. The room was spacious, but did not cool off as I'd like. The bathroom was a bit tight in space. Great water pressure. Very little ventilation. The beds are comfy. Breakfast was alright. I'm gluten free so I had to ask for oatmeal, which the hotel had. The eggs were so-so. The breakfast attendant was friendly and attentive.

Reviewed By Helen00What a charming B&B. We stayed in The Gatsby Room, which was decorated like something out of the 20's. We had a chance to peek in to the other rooms, each one is decorated in its own unique and charming style. There is a break room with free water, soda, snacks and coffee, as well as a lot of games, books, and DVDs along with a DVD player you can borrow. Breakfast was really good, they served a really good variety, and plenty of it. The (private) bathroom was well stocked with plenty of towels, shampoo and conditioner, etc. And, you are only a few miles from downtown La Grange. I would not hesitate to stay here again, next time I am in the area.

Reviewed By K8662GFstevenpFrom the moment we drove up to the time we left, it was like a dream getaway! Cheryl is such a wonderful hostess and Sammy was so friendly and fun. The breathtaking scenery, being around the horses and the beautiful estate were just what we needed! The breakfasts with Cheryl and the other guests was a great blessing as was the awesomely prepared food. We used the workout room and theater, the pool and hot tub and the bedroom was truly comfortable and welcoming. Everything was super clean and well maintained. This place is one we are definitely going back to. Thanks Cheryl, you are truly a blessing and we pray others will be blessed by your grace and joyful spirit!!! Steve and Christine Peloquin
