Reviewed By gramer999From the outside, Hotel Cosmos in Contrexéville looks like Stalag 13. On the inside, it's a bit like one of the grand old hotels of Eastern Europe during the Soviet era. It has the feel of a tired old lady who needs some considerable makeup! The first view a visitor has of it is a massive dull, grey, concrete block. A coat of paint wouldn't go astray! Inside, the carpets in the public areas - stairs and (very long) corridors - are badly stained and need replacing. In the room, we suffered from clanking water pipes all night. There wasn't even a headboard on the bed - someone had just pained a black rectangle on the wall. The fitted sheet didn't fit. The pillows were tiny and lumpy. Not very inspirational. The restaurant was clean and more modern, but the serving staff were indifferent. Not unpleasant - just disinterested like they couldn't wait to go home. The food was okay, and that's about the best I can say!

Reviewed By pgaidaI traveled over seas and planned to stay in this hotel. I booked and paid for this hotel in advance. Their booking page says to contact if arriving after 10pm. We arrived at 9:15pm and no staff were on site and the doors were locked. We had to drive another hour and half to find another hotel in a foreign country. This hotel refuse to give me back my money or for a hotel room I never stayed in.We even took a picture when arriving at the hotel to prove what time we arrived. Don't book this hotel.

Reviewed By frederic pWe spent holidays in Vosges in the campsite Contrexeville. It is a pleasant campsite or there is mobil home spaced out well to protect the intimacy. As the campsite is not far from the highway, there is many Dutch and Belgian which stays one night or more with their campers or caravans. We crossed a beautiful thanks to the kindness of Samuel and Sylvain

Reviewed By lutencieWe werden al meteen vrij hartelijk onthaald door de vriendelijke Rebecca en voelden ons onmiddellijk welkom. Het hotel is goed gelegen in het mooie centrum en vlakbij een 3-tal eetgelegenheden. Het ontbijt was voortreffelijk.

The weather was the worst rain/wind storm we had ever experienced and when we finally got to the hotel we were exhausted/frazzled. The owner made our comfort his first priority ... we were seated in the restaurant and given a glass of wine, then we ate a marvelous dinner and collapsed into bed before we realize Josehp hadn't even asked us if we had reservations! The next morning we ejoyed a great breakfast buffet and Joseph gave us a marvelous bottle of wine as a gift when we left. It was a needed and appreciated stop on a long drive ...

Reviewed By FrederickCookWe have been looking for the best overnight stop for a long timeand we might have found it. Of course the rooms are small, but what rooms are not?. We had a view across the lake and we could see our car in the free car park. In the evening we ate in their Restaurant, Tete des Vaux, not for the faint hearted, but delicious. A quite nights sleep.

Reviewed By DJHELIBENWe arrived at this Hotel and Instantly fell in love with it! The hotel is very charming and has a lot of Character. The staff were very friendly, especially the Hotel Manager. The breakfast was traditional but fabulous in all ways. We visited the Town due to it being our Twin Town and will hopefully return again soon!
