Remote but relaxing, a perfect stopover
Reviewed By magnard1963This is a fabulous conversion of old buildings high on a wooded Galician hillside. The quality of the finishes and furnishings everywhere is superb. Susana speaks perfect English and was the perfect host. The only downside is the remoteness and the slightly difficult access roads, but once there it is wonderfully peaceful and calm, with great woodland walks. The other potential downside of the location is if you're here for a few days meals might become a problem if you didn't want to drive, though we were kindly offered a cheese and charcuterie platter on our only night there. The provision of a Tesla destination charger was a godsend in this fairly remote region where there aren't too many public chargers. For us it was the perfect stopover on a long trip and we highly recommend it.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE- HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!
Reviewed By Vanessa GThis was the first time I have ever been to Pontenova and I automatically fell in love with the town, especially the hotel. It's timeless architecture and the amazing Maria & Juan made this experience unforgettable. They had a lot of knowledge about the history of the property and showed us old collected relics and their pristine mini chapel they have on site. Their property is surrounded by kiwi and apple trees, grapes and berries. For an additional cost, Maria and Juan will cook a delicious fresh meal for you. They even make their own jams that they sell!! I bought their berry and apricot jam and it was to die for. They even took us on a tour of the city where we met amazing locals, who they trade fresh food with. I had the honor of meeting Rogelia, a beautiful witty woman who lives just a few miles from the hotel. Considering its just the two of them running this mansion, Maria & Juan were incredibly attentive and catered to all of our needs, without hesitation. The rooms themselves, were epic and beautifully decorated. Each room is very clean and has fantastic views of the charming little city. The Jacuzzi was my favorite part! If you want to feel at peace and away from a frantic busy city, A Casa do Retratista is the place to come. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for everything, Maria and Juan. You guys were wonderful to me!

El establecimiento ofrece aparcamiento gratuito para Motos y bicicletas. Hacemos ofertas especiales durante todo el año si te encuentras trabajando por la zona y estancias de larga duración. Nos encontramos en un emplazamiento ideal para disfrutar de una gran variedad de actividades, como pesca, senderismo ,ciclismo, descenso del Eo en canoa , rutas en Buggy etc. Llegar a la playa te llevará menos de media hora, y formamos parte de la Reserva de la Biosfera del Río Eo, Oscos y Terras de Burón.

LAR DE VIES has a small and charming hotel with 5 spacious suites and also in the same complex three houses with capacity for 2/4 people in each of them are rented, fully equipped and with private garden, in full rental regime

Reviewed By neverendingplanetRural complex with rooms and small apartments in an incredible natural environment to connect with nature. Comfortable rooms fitted out with taste. Kind manager willing to do his best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. A good place to enjoy the sounds of nature and breathe pure air. The only downside is the spoiled road to get there.

Reviewed By Mel BWas incredibly tired when I came off the Bilbão ferry. I stopped just above Lugo in Pontenova. Eva,and Jocé were more than fantastic with their hospitality. Rooms incredibly clean. Service exceptional :-)

Not so much a guest as part of the family
Reviewed By Mike NWe only had a one night stay here but when we were leaving It was like leaving home. The road to and from the Casa are interesting but once found you are given a warm and generous welcome The rooms are spacious and have good showers. There is no restaurant as such but along with another couple from Spain we shared dinner with the owners in their kitchen we could wonder the grounds and local walks you are free to come and go as you please. Breakfast was also with the family and the nice thing was that the Spanish guests contributed to making sure we had all we needed, It really was like one big family. Even the dogs Lara and Molly seemed to want us to stay and we have promised to return.

Reviewed By AlbaGaliciaMi madre y yo nos alojamos en estos apartamentos ubicados en A Pontenova (Lugo), muy cerca de Asturias, reservando nuestra estancia a través de Smartbox. Los apartamentos están muy bien. La habitación amplia y muy limpia con tv de pantalla plana, cocina y baño con ducha (de cortesía jabón de manos y gel de ducha). El desayuno no se sirve en el propio establecimiento, sino que te derivan a una cafetería ubicada a unos 50 metros en la misma acera de los apartamentos. Si quieres comer hay un restaurante en el mismo edificio de los apartamentos con menú. La persona que nos atendió, Teresa, muy amable y servicial. Lo peor, la conexión al wifi, que en nuestra habitación iba bastante lenta. Es una buena opción para alojarte si tienes intención de conocer la comarca de Eo-Oscos.
