Very good value

Reviewed By Kevin S

A very good small hotel in the centre of the town very near all the sights. Parking will be difficult as it is in all the small towns with historic centres in Spain but we managed to find an on street spot just 50 metres away. Our bed-room was not large but on par with what you would expect for a city centre hotel, and much better that the title ‘hostal’ or the price might suggest. The room is modern, immaculately clean, powerful shower, good wifi, safe, tv we didn’t try, perfect for a few days. And of course it has a swimming pool. About 8x4 metres with seating for 14 people even with Covid restrictions it proved a very welcome relief after a hot morning sightseeing in 36c. Break-fast not included, options available. With again a language barrier we asked for ‘standard breakfast’ which turned out to be just the Andalucian with toasted bread roll spread with olive oil and tomatoes to taste with coffee or tea. That was only €2.40 per person, good value. But adding eggs juice etc was beyond our language capabilities with no assistance from the staff in trying to help.

La Casa del Seise

The Casa del Seise offers an ideal alternative to vacation housing for families or groups that have special service and space needs beyond what any hotel in the area can offer. Located in a house dating back to the 18th century, and situated within Baeza's historical section, the guest facility is completely remodeled and updated. You will find us right in front of the San Juan Evangelista chapel, and around the corner from the Old University. The house accurately reflects the old style and flavor of construction, even utilizing lumber from the previous building for the carpentry work.

Very spacious appartement.

Reviewed By TravelH33

Informing them of your expected arrival time doesn't work very well. I had to drive from Málaga airport and my flight was delayed. So I arrived a little over an hour later than I informed them, and they were already calling to the booking site over the phone to try and contact me. It is difficult to predict travelling time over such a distance even without a delayed flight. I think calling them when you are half an hour away or so (e.g. near Jaén) would work better. The friendly owners almost don't speak any English, which is a bit of a handicap. My appartement was really very big. It had two spacious bedrooms each with a bathroom. It had three, yes three, airconditioning units, so the indoor temperature was great. Plenty of room to park your car in the underground garage. The entrance to it is at Paseo las Murallas itself, which is a one-way street (from north-east to south west). On the first arrival you can drive to the square in front of the building (at Travesía Horno Merced). If you want to park in the garage, you have to come from the other side. There is a water tank in the garage, so I drank water from bottles only. The building is rather large, but is not marked on the outside with the advertised name. So you can not recognise the building as the appartement building, except from recognising them from foto's on the booking site (if any). There is no WiFi, as advertised. I used the WiFi of the McDonald's in Linares but also the free WiFi of Baeza itself (western part of Plaza de la Constitución) which worked really well. My appartement had a balcony but no special furniture for it. The appartement was very clean. Enough towels were provided for my stay, as advertised. The environment consists of very narrow, mainly one-way, streets. I very carefully prepared the route to the appartement at home beforehand, and could drive to it in the dark without problems. But you do need to prepare your route beforehand. If you know how to drive, the appartement is easily reachable by car. The nice center of Baeza is a short walk away. Baeza has a charming center, but is not very lively.

okay for a short visit

Reviewed By seashoresheil

We had booked this hotel through Booking.com, asked for a non smoking room but were given a room that smelled of cigarettes so they changed it for us, it turned out that we were the only people staying there so it was very quiet. The rooms were clean but a bit tired looking. Breakfast was okay, the usual continental breakfast but not hot food at all, lots of hot coffee though. The staff were very helpful and polite. There is a bus service a short walk from the hotel , about a 15 minute run into the town.
