Holiday Music Motel

Door County's first motel has been lovingly restored. Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great amenities, low rates, and an unbeatable location. We host live music weekly all year round!

Comfortable, considerate lodging at a reasonable rate

Reviewed By DarcyBeth10

We went for the largest room, which has plenty of space. It's a quick walk to restaurants, or there's a food truck on the premises too. The steel bridge is within walking distance, and the Holiday Music Motel is an excellent place to make your base for day trips up into the Door County peninsula, such as Peninsula State Park, Baileys Harbor and the Cana Island Lighthouse, and of course the Sturgeon Bay attractions. The innkeepers have put so much thought into the amenities -- there are even clips to hold the drapes shut for complete darkness if you desire. And the music memorabilia around the motel is fascinating. You can bring your own food and eat at the vintage dining counter, using the motel's homey real dishes and glasses.

Great little inn, but…..

Reviewed By pamdjones

I loved everything about this motel-location, room size and amenities, comfy bed, pleasant friendly staff, beautiful flowers, price……BUT the smell. Room 11 was perfect in every way, if you don’t mind musty, moldy smell. When I asked at the desk right after checking in, I was told no one else had ever complained. We left for sightseeing right after checking in, and when we returned, I found a dehumidifier running, a large Damp Rid unit, and a new Airwick plug in. Did not help. The city beach/park across the road is just wonderful and dinner at Mink River Basin was so good. I might stay again and try a different room. Other reviews mention the smell so I’m sure they’ve tried to fix it. Great little inn with very nice folks running it.

A sparkling clean gem!

A sparkling clean gem located across the street from Lake Michigan. Motel room was quiet and clean. Next door is Mike's Port Pub and Grill, with excellent food and great service. Both the inn and the pub are owned by the same friendly hardworking people. Excellent value for the price point on the "quiet side of the Door". We will be back!

A few tweaks to reach a 5

Unexpected family tragedy had us looking for a place close to Green Bay. Of course there was a playoff game at Lambeau so no hotels available, plus we had our 14 yr old pup as well. Came across Snug Harbor Inn & Cottages. Called them, they had one cottage left and the current client was leaving late that day. Wr arrived after 9pm on a Friday after a long drive. Cozy, cute, great fireplace, full kitchen. In the morning we noticed a few things that showed its age. The weather seal around the door allowed the snow to blow in, the floors were drafty, cobwebs on the kitchen light fixture and along the ceiling had been there awhile. A picture on the wall in the bedroom was upside down. But…the bathroom was clean, the beds were comfy and clean, the shower was hot and there were the right tools and pieces in the kitchen to cook. The staff was super friendly and the price was reasonable for last minute during a Packer playoff weekend. The view of the channel was lovely. Is it a 5 star? No but Snug Harbor is a solid 4 and we would stay again.

Great location, nice updated suite, clean as a whistle

Reviewed By MarkA5398

We were lucky to snag the last suite available for our spur-of-the-moment visit to Fish Creek. This is a homey and very nice facility in a great location across the street from the waterfront. The price was reasonable and our suite was the cleanest hotel room we've ever rented. A roomy bedroom, a comfortable living room/kitchenette (all the appliances worked well) and the bathroom was recently updated, good plumbing and fixtures, a very nice whirlpool bath and shower, and behind the bathroom door a full-sized washer/dryer stack -- very welcome on a longer stay. The staff was capable, friendly and very responsive to our needs. We recommend and will stay there again. Gave it a 4 instead of 5 because the wifi was weak and spotty (if you are staying in motel building, no problem; if you are in the suites, try to book in suites 5-8 instead of 1-4 and you should be okay); and because the two nice flat screen TVs in the suite suffer from a crappy, low-definition cable signal. In fairness to the management, low bandwidth seems to be a common affliction among Fish Creek hostelries, and who goes to Fish Creek to watch TV, anyway?
