Located in Montriond, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Chalet sur les Monts is a family home recently renovated with local woods species and stones. It is situated at the heart of Les Plagnettes, a hamlet at the start of the park Les Dereches. Les Dereches stretches on more than 5km between winding trails and rivers. It is also the perfect place for a family.

Reviewed By Bat-twingoNous avons passé 6 jours sur place. Le chalet est tres bien aménagé et très confortable. Mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi après les longues randonnées. Les hôtes sont sympathiques, disponibles et proposent des informations sur les environs (activités, restaurants, magasins...). Nous avions une chambre avec vue sur la montagne. Plutôt calme avec quelques bruits le matin et le soir sur le palier mais rien de bloquant. Nous n'avons pas testé le petit déjeuner mais la kitchenette partagée sur le palier (grill, micro-ondes, évier, frigo) était suffisante pour manger et préparer les pique nique.

Trout and dill rillette mouse and fennel salad, beautiful beef paleron steak, finished off with a pistachio crème brûlée. Mrs x had the trout to start and followed with sea bass fillets with asparagus. Dark chocolate creamaux, mango and honeycomb. Everything made in the hotels kitchen fresh. Remy as the maitre d’hotel created a warm and playful atmosphere that perfectly suited the relaxed feel of the restaurant. Congratulations to the whole front of house team and Jaime for seemingly doing every job with a smile and laugh, and the lift to and from Morzine. Best meal we had all week on holiday. And to be honest on a par with ,many of London’s great restaurants as well.

Reviewed By 592alexSurely one of the best places to eat in the Morzine-Avoriaz region. Excellent food with local products all nicely cooked. Includes fish, meat, salads, etc. A large variety of wine is available. The service is also outstanding. We will definitely come back soon.

Chalet La Touviere perfect for peacefull or romantic hoilday
Reviewed By ardianavitaWe stayed at La Touviere during december 2008 and had fantastic time we loved the Chalet which is the same as shown on their website (www.skirosetta.com) Chris and Helen who are the owners where very helpfull at all times. The Chalet is situated near St Jean D Aulps and Morzine which are fantastic for beginners in sking or for more experienced once you could go to Morzine which is not far either. It was our first time there and we loved it. The Chalet is perfect and has bags of character, it is very well equiped with everything that you need. It takes about 15 min to get to the sking resort by car, otherwise you could take a 10 min drive to the tourist information centre where you could take a free shuttle bus to the resort. Parking at the resort is very limited so Bus is the best way and it runs on schedule aprox. every hour. We found the ski rental very resonable priced as well as the ski lift pass per adult is 10 euros (for begginers piste only). We are definately going back it was worth every penny we have spent.

Restored from a traditional 19th Century farmhouse, The Retreat has been transformed into a beautiful ski chalet with rustic charm. The chalet sleeps up 14 guests in seven bedrooms each with an en suite. Tiled floors and wooden features throughout the rooms, it is a 19th century farmhouse after all. If you fancy something a little special the Master room in the eaves offers a great space with Jacuzzi bath. The Retreat sits in the picturesque hamlet of Le Lavanchy, directly between Morzine and the Ardent ski lifts. The location means you get to experience the peace and intimacy of a proper mountain chalet whilst being within easy reach of the lifts.
Very disappointing, new management required!
Reviewed By stevo1964Where do I begin. On arrival at The Retreat we quickly discovered that the accommodation was not as it appeared on the website. The location is certainly not 4 minutes from Morzine, even if you fly! Although the beds had been made none of the toilets had been cleaned and there were used toiletries left in the shower cubicles in all the rooms. Not a good start. We thought a dip in the hot tub might be nice to relax after our travel but could not find any robes to use and that the hot tub had been turned off so the water was cold. Robes were delivered later that evening. Our hosts did make up for this with a lovely meal. Although the smell from the pantry left us wondering what we were going to be eating! The hosts advised us that as it was the end of the season we would be getting further hosts as they had already booked flights home. I have to say that Liam and Alex could not be more charming. Although they did not join us until later in the week our toilets were cleaned, the beds made and the food was exceptional. If you are going to accept guests on a late deal the management should have at least made arrangements for the simplest of tasks, ie a clean toilet, to be addressed. The communication from Snowchateau leaves a lot to be desired. They clearly cannot run a company with such poor and late responses. What a shame as the chalet is rustic and full of character just badly managed.
