We were in the area for a wedding, and I am so glad we arrived a few days early. The buildings and grounds were so quaint and well kept, the pictures do not show how adorable this place is. We stayed 4 nights, and too busy to take full advantage of the property. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and they spoke English. Boris is very knowledgeable about how to visit Versailles, so he saved us time and money. There are outdoor seating areas and tables for eating outside. There is secure off- street parking. The rooms themselves were newly renovated. They were spacious and had high ceilings. There was air conditioning in the bedroom and in the living area. There was free Wi-Fi that worked really well as well as 2 TVs. The kitchen had everything I needed to make simple meals. Great place to stay for visiting PRis, Versailles, or the National Park’s surrounding this area.

Maison Prairie Bonheur

Very helpful to me for finding walking trails in this beautiful area

Reviewed By divefan

I'm so glad we stayed in this intimate, quiet and peaceful property during our Ryder Cup visit, rather than staying a big, impersonal hotel. Our hosts were very helpful in telling me where I could hike and visit, while my husband went to the golf tournament. I would have been lost without them. Instead I had some of the best moments of my life walking in the beautiful countryside, and visiting the Chateau de Breteuil. They were able to give me a ride to the starting point of my walks, and the area has a surprisingly good Uber service to get me back to the inn at the end. The GPS on the Maps app in my cell phone, together with a topographical map loaned by the hosts, kept me from getting too lost. I liked the group dining with the other guests, usually a small group. Almost everyone was able to speak english, to some degree, I was happy to be able to try out my french in a small group of native speakers. Speaking to other Europeans around a communal table was an experience I would never have had anywhere else, and did at lot to make the trip memorable. The food was very good, home cooked right on site. It was served in the french style, with salad and a delicious cheese selection following the entree. Then there was dessert after that (so save room). The baked white fish was some of the best I've had anywhere. The wines were decent and not overpriced. The decor was a little quirky, but the room was pleasant and comfortable. It was certainly more interesting and more personal than just another sterile chain hotel. We slept well, and there was plenty of hot water. I would recommend staying here if you want to really experience the french countryside and lifestyle.

Au Chant des Oiseaux

Terrible!!!!!

Reviewed By annette60_11

When we arrived the property looked awful from the outside. There was no one there to let us in, or other guests who were arriving so we had to make a phone call to get instructions as to where the keys were. On entering the inside was even worse. Old, rundown, the kitchen which was available for guests to use was dirty and smelly. Our room upstairs was tiny with a tiny bathroom in the corner. The shower head needed to be held whilst washing, the towels were the smallest I have ever seen and the door did not fir, so no privacy! The bed was rock hard with one ‘pillow’ each which appeared to be a lump of foam. We had to crawl into the bed as there was no space either side as as the roof sloped on the second night I managed to bang my head. Everything about this place was really GRIM and we would not have stayed if we had had been able to move elsewhere. Because of the Ryder Cup this ‘hotel’ charged us 150 euros for each night just for a bed. DO NOT stay here!!
