Comfortable, modern rooms and nice staff

Reviewed By instantradio

I stayed here for a couple of days with my parents as we visited some family cemeteries in central New Jersey. Admittedly, this hotel was sort of out of the way for us, but it was one of the only hotels we could find that did not have outrageous room rates over Memorial Day weekend. The staff were very pleasant and polite, and our room was clean and modern. I liked the use of bright colors in the wall art. One night, there was a loud family or group in the room above ours, and I called the front desk about it. They dealt with it quickly and we went to sleep. I slept on the pullout couch, which was comfortable, and the provided blanket was clean. Thanks to the staff for a pleasant stay!

Wonderful staff, comfortable beds, incredibly outdated.

We stayed here for one night in June 2022. The positive: the staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful, the room was very clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. The negative: the hotel is in desperate need of renovations. Desperate. I’m giving away my age with this comment but I’m sure when the Partridge Family stayed there it looked exactly the same. We were charged $20 per person for a buffet breakfast, which was definitely not worth it - we should have gone to Starbucks or Panera. You live, you learn. We would stay there again for the staff, location and the beds.

Disgusting

Totally disgusting. This is not a hotel it’s a motel and I’m being kind trust me. I don’t even know where to start. So when you first check in they make you give an upfront $250 security deposit. Next the hallway rugs are all stained. One door was being held open by a dirt laundry basket and another by a dirty face cloth wedge under it. Stains everywhere in our room. Bathroom dirty. Listen moms out there it is not safe for your children to stay here. Sonesta ES means extended stay which mean there are really weird people who are actually living here. It is not safe to walk around. You know those crappy motels on the side of a highway. Well this one just photoshopped their website pictures really well. Not one looks like this place. I spent $300 on two sleeping bags, two pillows/pillow cases and two comforters because I refused to sleep in the bed. I bought another $50 worth of cleaning products. Why I didn’t leave? They had $600 of my money that was non refundable. We were just passing through so we just did our best to get through it. Never never again

A good example of its kind

Easy to find, very clean and roomy, friendly reception. A little noise from the laundry room. The rate included breakfast but in reality it is only tea and coffee. A good option for a quick stopover or if you are looking to stay longer and need the kitchen.

Old Property

Reviewed By loveisbliss

This is my second stay at this Holiday Inn this past year. Not my choice because it is for business! This property is so old and needs a full renovation. The interior of the rooms is nothing better than a $49 per night motel room. The exterior of the building looks impressive as you drive in the circle upon arrival and it just goes downhill from there. Please do your research before choosing a hotel room. Do not let stock photos on a web site fool you. There are so many other much better options down on Route 1.
