Finally something new and fresh in San Bernardino
Reviewed By quattromontiThis super high tech hotel just opened its doors on the 31. July 2013 and we were probably one of the first clients at all! If you are looking for a super cheap accommodation in the Swiss Alps but don't want to compromise on comfort such as en suite wc/shower, LCD TV, free wi-fi, super central location well then this brand new hotel is for you! True there is no service as this is a fully "computerized" hotel but when you book you can add everything from breakfast at the vis-a-vis Brocco & Posta hotel or entrance at another nearby hotel swimming pool! No frills but all the comfort you really need. We will definitely be back! And "bravo" to the people that have had the guts to try something new in the not really "cutting edge" village of San Bernardino :-)

Cozy, friendly, practical
Reviewed By cyberntzWe stayed at the aparthotel San Bernardino in one of their largest apartments with 2 double bedrooms and a couch-bed and had a very good time. The apartment is very spacious with plenty of space for our toddlers to play and even run around a bit. The beds were comfortable and the fact that we were able to use the kitchen was a real plus. Check-in was fast and easy, parking in front of of the hotel is most practical. Breakfast was fine. Staff was very friendly. We were able to reach the village and the slopes within a few minutes walk. Only a few remarks: - We all suffered from allergies from pets. We think that a dog might have stayed in the apartment before us because we were all sneezing and had itchy eyes. It would be great if there could be a no-dogs apartment - The staff, although super friendly, had little to no knowledge about the resort. There is a tourist office nearby (open also on Sunday) so we could gather all the information we needed. It would be helpful though if the staff knew bits and pieces such as: how many minutes from there to the shop, where is the skilift located, etc.

Freundliches Personal, tolles Zimmer und feines Essen
Reviewed By gurki66Gute und schnelle Kommunikation mit Gastgeber per Email, beim Ankommen wurde uns ein kürzlich renoviertes Zimmer mit Seeblick als Upgrade angeboten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Essen mit italienischem Akzent aber auch schweizer Gerichte. Ganz toll: wir hätten am Abreisetag sogar nochmals das Zimmer zum Duschen benutzen dürfen nach unserer Skitour. Das trifft man selten an! Sehr zu empfehlen, im Sommer sicher auch sehr schön in diesem Naturparadies am See.

Stranded and treated nicely
Reviewed By andreask138532We were in car trouble and luckily the owner herself enabled us after a call to stay that night despite late check-in past 22 o' clock when the village seems to sleep. Troubles understood by them and ADAC/TCS' erroneous communication on sunday/monday/tuesday locked us there, they served us very well (including offers on the house). The parking lot in front of the hotel is a big plus, sound system in the bar sounds good, drinks and snacks in the bar were delicious and the huge exterior enables a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a nice, old-fashioned ambiente, like the bathrooms of the hotel. Since its a expensive region, I want to highlight the very good quality of original swiss rösti. The rooms were big enough for a short period, clean and prepared for us. One point I want to highlight is the hotels motto (bicycle/racing) with lots of modern artworks in the bar and basement. The WiFi worked almost everywhere (but they could run a software-update on the router to improve it). The rest of the hotel included a lot of very good artworks which are a must-see there. The history of the hotel should also been told and is included in the name. Five stars because despite of the old baths, the artworks were impressive, the staff was handsome, the meals were delicious, the rooms were clean and wifi worked almost everywhere.
