Reviewed By Colin CWe enoyed our getaway to the Moorings. The room was excellent and the service provided upon check in was very friendly and helpful. The Moorings is perfectly located with easy access to shops, cafes and the Pub. Would definately stay they again!

4 star rated accommodation in the heart of Metung, a picturesque village, on the shores of the 400 square kilometre Gippsland Lakes, Australia's largest inland waterway.Metung Waters is positioned between Lake King to the west and the shores of Bancroft Bay to its east. Patterson Park is adjacent the property, with a children's play area. It is next door to the PO, just 100 metres to the village store, historic Metung Hotel and local restaurants. Art galleries, chemist, ladies resort wear & gift shops are nearby. Metung Waters has a landscaped BBQ area and solar heated pool for your enjoyment and within 50 metres is the town beach, on the shore of Lake King to the west and the Village Green and Bancroft Bay to the east.Metung Waters offers spacious and modern accommodation. There are 10 Motel rooms and 4 self-contained apartments, all with spa bath and private courtyard or balcony. There is ample off-street parking and you won't need your car in the village once you have arrived.
Good motel let down by bad parking
Reviewed By phitalAccording to the reception person we dealt with, the owner was away and he was filling in, so we have to cut him some slack as dealing with customers was not his strong point. We booked a ground floor room as we always do as we cannot use stairs. Our booking was confirmed through booking.com and we also received written confirmation for the room (N0. 4) from the owner via email. However on arrival the receptionist tried to give us an upstairs room which we refused. He claimed no such arrangements for a downstairs room had been made despite us having written proof. He claimed our room (No. 4) had not been cleaned as he was not expecting guests. After much ado we were given a ground floor room which was apparently an upgrade on what we had booked. The room was quite large and well equipped with a large couch and dining setting. It also had a good split system air conditioner. The motel is very well situated in the middle of town within easy walking distance of shops, cafes and the pub. The motel is badly let down with bad parking arrangements. You are supposed to park on an empty lot at the rear of the motel which has no lighting and consists of a grassed area with a muddy gravel track. If you park here you have to drag your luggage some distance uphill via the muddy track to your room. You are forced to park illegally on the street .

Peaceful stay with great service
Reviewed By JaneyBoxWe only stayed one night as part of a road trip but would definitely come back again. Our villa was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Despite being almost booked out it was quiet and peaceful. Well run and great customer service, guests are well looked after.

A beautiful place to stay
Reviewed By aussielouieWe recently stayed here for 3 nights (not enough) We had a beautiful villa right at the top of the property so we could have a small view of the water from our lovely balcony. The villa was meticulous, in cleanliness and decor. There was everything that you could possibly need in the kitchen. Also extra items in the cupboards should you needI it. It felt just like home. Just as well as there was not a lot of choice in regard to eating out, so we stayed in more than we generally do. The grounds are very well managed and looked lovely. We didn't use the entertainment room but it looked equally impressive with plenty to do if you had a family. We would highly recommend this property and we will certainly be returning. David the manager was very helpful and welcoming.

Great position but not 5 star
Reviewed By janemK8296BMNice apartment although spa was broken and then shower leaked through walls and flooded floor. Couldn’t get any assistance for over an hour. Bed comfortable. Just needs maintenance overhaul and then would be great. And need to have a number to contact someone in emergency even during office hours. Gave us discount after this happened after I didn’t accept the offer of an extra hour on last day! Very disappointed after it looked so good!!!

Reviewed By mark359We booked many months before our stay in December. The owners decided to cancel our stay 3 days before the rental date, no reasonable explanation> They put forward other rentals for us to take, not up to the standard we intended to have. Very disappointing and stressful
