Looks pretty in the photos. Don't be fooled. There is absolutely NO privacy and NO peace and quiet. You're on a concrete slab next to a sidewalk, above another sidewalk facing a freeway. People walking by feel free to look in on your entire life. They talk loudly, let their dogs chase the bunnies and allow their kids to scream as loud as they can while running up and down all the sidewalks all around you and your slab. Well, half a slab. Two rooms per slab. Much like a trailer park. if there were 2 trailers per slab. The TV is ridiculous. Only wrestling and rodeos unless you use your cellphone as a remote. Which means if you take the phone with you to go grab take-out, everyone left in the room has to stick to whatever's on. That's just ridiculous. When we called to complain about the TV, I was treated so poorly we almost left. I was gaslit, threatened by management, the manager even told me he "told the girls to stand down." What the hell does THAT mean?! And who even talks like that? ?? These were grown *up* women. BIG women. Threatened by a little old lady who wants to get the TV working for an even littler and older mama? ?? Hmmm.... How long have you been in the service industry? We were paying THOUSANDS for a holiday week there. BIG mistake. One I will not make again. Food is hit or miss and pricey. And they will hurt you if you criticize ANYTHING. You vil like it or ELSE! They will make you pay somehow. Dirty looks, messing up the order, making you wait noticeably longer than others. And we tip 25% as a rule. ?? I wrote it off as a "cultural" thing. *yawn* Crazy place. Criminal vibe. Threatening even. Some of the employees are "rough". Do you know what I mean by that? Ghetto. I didn't feel safe. NOISY. The freeway is RIGHT THERE. You can see the faces of the drivers from your bed. And if you're sensitive to wifi and things like that, you are out of luck. The machine rooms are sandwiched between the rooms. You will be zapped. Don't be fooled by the lack of negative reviews. They were probably threatened with a lawsuit. I know I was. But my legal assures me that nope, just hot air. They have more to fear from me than I do them. I have proof of all the ways that they abused us from pushing my door open in the middle of the night to enter without a mask, or my permission; to having a strobing light enter our room after my "altercation" (??!!) with "the girls". My guy suffers from epilepsy so that was a bit of revenge they could end up in criminal court over. (And no I don't believe it was a coincidence. There were other harassments that followed.) We still followed our plan of generously spreading holiday cheer to those I found deserving. Namely housekeeping and room service. But we had planned to spoil ALL the employees. Their hateful prejudice prevented me. Their loss. It must be hard to be so... limited. I count my blessings every day. And I know not to mess with those who hate me for them. PS: The manager actually called me a control freak for managing the TV and room service. Was I supposed to let my elderly mother do it all? My special needs partner? I found that to be beyond rude and unprofessional. It's like he resented me for it. Chauvinism? Sure felt like it. A) Not his place to make a comment like that to a guest. EVER! And, B) He's wrong. Might wanna make sure you're right, if you say something like that to someone. And you may want to actually KNOW them first. Calling to find out why the TV has no remote and only 2 low-life stations is not being a "control freak". It's getting things situated for MY guests. (The mind boggles.) But then I learned, it's a COMFORT INN. Ohhhh.... now I understand. Had I known I would've gone back to Post Ranch instead. THEY know what they're doing and are ALWAYS helpful and respectful. And the food is ALWAYS excellent. Next time. We travel quite a bit. Honestly, even without the infantile unprofessionalism, we wouldn't go back. It's pretty, but that is it. Print out a picture and put your thousands in a REAL service-oriented resort. One you can get some sleep in and hang out in without prying eyes.

Love this little place

We have family in the area, but they cannot always accommodate us so this is our go-to inn. I love the landscaping- lavender, jasmine, and a pool surrounded by lawn, shrubbery, and trees, with the gorgeous hills as a backdrop, and a patio with chairs just for you- it’s lovely. The bed is comfortable (no backache here!), the rooms are clean, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast but we can’t resist the short drive to Wild Goose. There’s wine tasting (we like Scratch and Joyce but there are plenty of others to try) and a selection of restaurants in the village.

Cute Little Motel

During Car Week in Monterey it is always a challenge to find a hotel/motel room. But this year our car event was supposed to be held in the Village, so I thought we were fortunate to get a room within walking distance of the show. Well a couple of local politicians took it upon themselves to deny their local wineries, restaurants and merchants thousands of dollars in income! But we stayed here nonetheless. The rooms are definitely a take back to the 1950's at least, but very clean with excellent service. Internet was great the entire time as was the fridge stocked with water. Our shower was tiny but clean. If you are looking for a one-two night stay this is great.

The Camp At Carmel Valley

Former children's summer camp. Now an event venue and overnight lodging in cabins. Teambuilding for group retreats.

Incredible hidden gem!

Reviewed By BayAreaMomTraveler

This place is destined to be an incredible hit! The location is beautiful - a hilltop in the Carmel Valley an easy 20-30m drive from Carmel’s beaches. But you won’t want to leave - the resort has a wonderful old timey charm with rustic but incredibly clean cabins, bath houses and…wait for it…fully catered meals. There’s a wonderful outdoor terrace (and indoor great room) where the BEST meals are served 3 times a day (included in the nightly rate). The kids can play nearby on the grass or tennis courts and after dinner there’s s’mores for all. The team on-site is amazing and there’s a pool, archery classes and tie dye. Incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to disconnect from the frenetic day to day in the SF Bay. We will be back!
