We were in the Martha Washington toom and I loved being able to access our room from the outside instead of having to ho through the main part of the inn. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were so comfortable and soft. The common areas were clean and inviting. Kit and her husband Gary and all the staff we met were very friendly and so accommodating. The breakfasts were fantastic!!When we come back to the area again I know where I'm staying for sure!

Reviewed By TimS1Don't believe every negative review because from my reading reviews before we stayed, one would have thought it was in a slum somewhere. Couldn't have been further from the truth. Shower was a bit tricky - hot and cold seemingly reversed but otherwise excellent pressure and temperature, a feeling of refreshment afterwards. Plenty of towels, although on a two night stay clean ones were left in a plastic bag outside our door. Have never experienced that anywhere in the world. Heat / air was ok, although finally turned off as the fan was too loud. Great TV, Wifi.

Reviewed By JulieG353Immaculate rooms in this historic mansion coupled with elegant bathrooms and a lovely breakfast make this property the best B & B experience I have had by far. Sited on a hill with a panoramic view of the surrounding green hills, the rooms are quiet and restful.

Reviewed By K5226YPmikecDO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!! This place will rip you off. I agreed to pay 60 a night to only get home to find out they had charged me 150 a night. I notified my bank, and they are considering filing fraud charges. Horrible place!!

A Diamond in the rough?
Reviewed By Start123abcIf you are traveling the I-77 corridor, and are near Bluefield, WV, you'll have a number of places to stop for the night, depending on your budget. If all you want is a CLEAN, comfortable place to stay a night or two, don't pass the Economy Inn on Old Cumberland Rd. I wasn't expecting much, as this was a short stay for a night on my way to (and later from) a family gathering. After I checked in, I opened the door to my room and was pleasantly surprised. A fairly LARGE sleeping quarters (12X17 - I measured) with a queen bed, lots of pillows, table and 2 chairs, dresser with a 40" flat screen TV. Not a lot of channels, but I wasn't there to camp out, but to get a good sleep and leave at sun up. Past the sleeping quarters was an alcove for suitcases with a rack for hangers, AND a mini-fridge and microwave. (I had a frozen dinner which I heated and ate). Off the alcove was the bathroom. One word - CLEAN. VERY clean. Lots of towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc, and a built in hair dryer. This was a NICE surprise. Most lower end motels are not this nice. There's an in-the-wall heating & a/c unit which you can set fan speeds, thermostat and make the room comfy to your tastes. Beat part? $56.50 for the night. YES! The building is old, but well maintained. Floors can be a bit uneven, some furniture is dated. If you want a 4 or 5 star rated, then go there and pay the price for it. Also a Dollar General store 2 doors away, a KFC 3 doors down the other way, and a gas station if you need to refill. I used all of them. I had 2 nights (4 nights apart) for a shade over $112. It was comfortable and CLEAN. Don't "judge a book by its cover". You might pay more than you need to.
