Famous for Bourbon Country and horse farms, civil war battlefields and beautiful natural parks, Kentucky offers a delightful mix of experiences. You might begin in Lexington, where the 1200-acre Kentucky Horse Park is a popular attraction. The university adds exciting sports, impressive art and a vibrant student/professor population to the city. Louisville is similar, where renowned Churchill Downs hosts the annual Kentucky Derby and the Belle of Louisville, the nation’s oldest steam-driven river paddlewheeler, hosts enchanting lunch and dinner cruises along the beautiful Ohio River. Next, head south to visit Mammoth Cave National Park for a day of touring the cave (the world’s longest known cave), hiking and canoeing on the Green River. Paducah, Berea, Bowling Green – so many places to explore and enjoy!

We just got back from our first trip in 2022 which many more will come as we get into summer, Fall, & Christmas. We spent Christmas 2021 here and it was very nice! That's a repeat! We really loved the new improvements! king size bed is much appreciated as well as replacing the awful cable tv service with dish, these 2 additions make a great place even greater! thank you for the upgrades!!!

We stayed a night at Logan Cottage for a quick and long overdue anniversary getaway. Our intentions were to stroll through the downtown shops and have lunch at the Bluebird which would take us up to check-in time where we could settle in before dinner reservations in nearby Danville later that evening. You can read about our Bluebird experience (or lack thereof) under the Bluebird's TripAdvisor listing. Logan Cottage was everything it was advertised and then some. The home was spotless, the baths were both updated and clean, no lack of books to read, and the house is surprisingly quiet given the age. The original wood floors set off this home, along with the functioning windows above the bedroom doors. The blinds/shutters in the windows are another amazing feature. You will not find more comfortable bed linens short of a $400 per night hotel, and the heat/air maintains the house very comfortably. I will say, seems like the living room is much cooler than the rest of the house on a cold night, to get it comfortable for spending a lot of time in there you're going to be a little stuffy in the other rooms but this is a minor thing that many probably wouldn't even notice. Wife mentioned when we got home needing to book again in Dec. to take the kids to stay and travel around to look at Christmas lights so we will likely be staying again very soon.

John is a fabulous host and the buildings and grounds reflect his care and attention. He has tons of knowledge and is always there to help. Boat slips available for $10 a day, easy access to the lake. Gas available at the dock! Great fishing nearby. In fact, fish right from the bank at the resort. Cabins are super clean and well maintained.

Audubon State Park

Quiet and beautiful park with nice hiking trails

Reviewed By Brenda R

We spent a restful and quiet weekend in a cozy, warm cabin with a fireplace. It was the cleanest place we have ever stayed and would easily pass the white glove test.Kudos to the long-time resident housekeeper at Audubon State Park. We hiked every trail and enjoyed the scenery. The John James Audubon museum is a true gem in Kentucky State Parks. The documentary is interesting and taught us about Audbon's life. I'm not sure how he accomplished what he did in the time period.

We know Berea and like the location where the cottage is. We were interested to book the cottage and it was available according to the schedule on their website! That was actually a few days *before* and a few days *after* Thanksgiving!  We had questions and were looking  for some information. My husband and I tried to contact them numerous times,  via email and left messages at their answering machine. We tried to get in contact in a timely manner, one or even one and a half week * before * Thanksgiving! No response at all! Nothing! We were disappointed! Poor customer service!
