Wonderful family hotel
Reviewed By BelgianWandererThe moment I arrived here, I knew this was an awesome place. Hotel Arco del Sol is located 2 kilometers outside the village of Colmenar in a wonderful surrounding. I arrived one hour and a half too early, but Juan, the very kind son of the owners and who also spoke English very well, said this was no problem. I got a room on the first floor with a big balcony with a view (like all or almost all of the rooms), a prive bathroom with a bath, a desk, tv and Wi-Fi. The people in this family hotel are very friendly and helpful (they offered me a ride to my net destination Casabermeja if necessary). The bar is open all the time and there is also a very good restaurant. The homemade croquetas were the best I ate during my two week on my walking trip in Andalucia! The scenery around Colmenar is very beautiful and enjoyable.

Reviewed By Jan ECould be a Hacienda, but this is a real Andalusian one. Build up again by Hubert Deckers. Time stops when you arrive in his Cortijo-Piltraque. Warm welcome by Marianne and Hubert among their Olive-trees. Even if you arrive without a car, it's easy to go to Malaga. it only takes a beautiful walk over a hill to reach the center of Colmenar, and 45 minutes by bus for only a bit more the a few Euro's. Taste the local wines, cava and most of all.. Hubert's art !! the diner !! you even use your sixth sense during diner. Meanwhile you'll learn about the greatness of all these small raw materials. Don't forget to ask the Colmenar local hotels about the special dish, created together with Don Hubert. In Malaga, visit Antonio Banderas' favorite bar El Pimpi, and if lucky you see the sleeping elephant mountain as from the Piltraque terrace.

Reviewed By Ann AWe stayed for 2 nights, the room was huge, the bathroom was on the small side but more than adequate. Great views from the room. Staff very friendly and helpful. One member of staff had a decent grasp of English, that was good as we don't know much Spanish. Located on the outskirts of this lovely village, up in the hills. There was a huge selection of food on the menu, we had a light lunch of tapas when we arrived and they were very good, our evening meal was tasty and plentiful. If back in the area I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Our hotel is a familyhotel with a typical Spanish air. The ideale location to find rest but also to discover the beautifull Andalicia. Malaga-Airport and the city of Malage is about 35 km's away from us. Also Granada and Sevillia can be vissited in one day if you like.Biking and motorryding is possible from out hotel and we have fenced parkings for bykes.

Reviewed By AndyGmarathonmanWonderful place. I stayed for a week and found it so relaxing and comfortable. The rooms are all really well furnished in traditional style, a world away from a city hotel, but with good facilities, WiFi etc. Hosts are fantastic, food is superb

Reviewed By Monique WHuis ligt op een prachtige plek, je hebt wel een auto nodig. Kleine supermarkt, restaurants in het dorp. Geweldig uitzicht, heerlijk zwembad, heerlijk, gezellig ingericht huis. Goede bedden, 3 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers. Goed ingerichte keuken, vaatwasser, wasmachine, buitenkeuken. Diverse terrasjes rond het huis. Gezellige, behulpzame eigenaar. Top!
