Kikut Lighthouse

Reviewed By high_low73 - Bergen, Norway

In the Wolin national park, not to far from Wiselka you'll find Kikut lighthouse. The Lighthouses along the Baltic coast are interesting and we have a thing for trying to visit them as we enjoy our vacations along the coast. Kikut is a good beautiful half hour walk in the woods of this national park before you ascend the hill were it is situated. This is the only one of the main Lighthouses that is closed for public to enter. That is a shame, but guess they have a good reason for it being so. Probably the remote location. It's built in 1962 on the base of an ancient view tower from the first half of the 19th century. If you like us got a thing for Lighthouses this is well worth your trip.

Konkatedra sw. Jana Chrzciciela

This church "St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral" is a marvelous sight and said to be one of the finest historic buildings in Western Pomerania, I agree. Majestic Romanesque- Gothic architecture from 12th century. And if the architecture isn't enough the organ from mid 1600 is the largest and most beautiful I've seen. I'd recommend to try and visit whilst it is played on. The church is in regular use so it could be during mass, but of course be respectful.

Slavian and Viking centre Vineta

Reviewed By IWNoordergraaf - Groningen

There is a museum right after the brigde in the entrance way to the city. After seeing the museum, you should go to the archeological-recontruced village. It is nice to walk in and taste the atmosphere of over one thousand years ago. Personell is dressed up in historical cloths, you can eat tradional pancakes and vinking ale (no alcohol). Wooden houses are built like it might have been, the city wall-palllisade, a viking boat for trading purposes and more.

Kawcza Mountain

Reviewed By skoczmd - Warsaw, Poland

We reached Kawcza after short, 15 minutes walk from the town. The most impressive way to the summit is to climb wooden stairs from the beach. The viewpoint hangs 60 m over the cliff in Wolinski National Park. Great place to escape the noise and crowds of seafront Promenade and to contemplate nature.

Miejsce Miedzyzdroje is a bar/pub right on the beach, not too far from the Pier - ideal for watching the gorgeous Baltic sunset. They always have a live band on in the evenings. Drinks are reasonably priced (considering location) the staff are fun and friendly. Miejsce Miedzyzdroje is sure to create some amazing, summer memories for everyone!
