At home in the United States,I get a massage every week. I especially enjoy getting a massage at the vacation destinations we visit around the world. Each one is completely different.
I was very disappointed with Grotta Giusti. It is a large commercial establishment, not at all a warm welcoming staff that I expected. Instead, you stand in line until you reach a lady behind a computer. She indifferently enters your choice of amenities and collects the money upfront. You are then sent to a second line, to get slippers and robe. This staffer gives you a token and points to a turnstile which you are to put the token to go in a dressing room. Kind of like going to Disney World, when all you wanted was a quiet intimate massage.
Extremely Large cold locker room for clothes, then you go upstairs to more lockers to lock up your purse.
By now I am trying to remember all the instructions given to me by the receptionist. There are no signs. So I had to try to find another's staff person and ask where I was to go next to get a massage. She pointed to an elevator, then another person on the next floor took me down a long tunnel like hall. To a room with you guessed it, another staff person behind a computer.
Finally I got my massage. It was just average. The massage therapist was cold and matter of fact. I got a male massage therapist. Ordinarily, that would be fine, but this massage therapist lifted the blanket and told me to turn over
I then tried to retrace my steps back to my clothes and purse. My husband was waiting for me out in the sun by the pool. When I tried to go out the door to speak to my husband, to tell him my massage was completed, A staff person guarding the door yelled at me. I explain the situation and tried to go out a second time. The staff person blocked my way and made a scene, saying "this door is only for hotel guests only." My husband was sitting 12 feet away, and he wasn't a hotel guest. Luckily, my husband heard the commotion and came inside.
By now, any relaxation I received from the massage was gone.

Come prima gita, con il nostro camper acquistato da un mese, abbiamo deciso di passare il ponte della Immacolata, con amici già camperisti, a Montecatini Terme.
Questo campeggio è stata sicuramente una esperienza positiva. Titolari cordialissimi, piazzole da 60mq ben illuminate con colonnine di corrente a 800w, zona carico/scarico acque, negozio interno per accessori camper, servizio navetta a chiamata ad 1,50 euro a persona per il centro, il tutto a due passi da un grosso centro commerciale.
Ringrazio il titolare per le dritte sul ristorante Quarto di Luna a 5 minuti a piedi dalla struttura, Roberto ci ha coccolati con piatti tradizionali ottimi, che detto da un bolognese, vuol dire tanto.
Complimenti e alla prossima gita.

I have used Gusto Cycling to organise 2 cycling events, both of which were excellent. The first was a cycling tour for my local cycling club from Kildare town, Ireland in 2014 and the routes, racing bikes, hotel and racing guides were top class. The second was a smaller group of friends in 2016 and again Gusto Cycling created a wonderful cycling experience. Marco Mori, owner Gusto Cycling has a fantastic understanding of great customer service, organises challenging cycling routes, beautiful visits to restaurants and wineries and fits in perfectly with the group. I cannot recommend Gusto Cycling highly enough.

From the city walls, to the cafe and chocolate shop to the churches and the towns historic industries, she will wow you with her depth of local and regional history.
Don't stop with just a tour of Lucca. Let Elena guide you to the heart of Montecarlo for an authentic cooking class at Fattoria il Poggio. There you will meet Giuseppe, your chef, who will guide you as you make your own meal. We learned to make two types of brucetta, a Boulanese sauce, pasta and balsamic chicken. Of course there are several white and red wines to enjoy along the way.
Several hours later ended our meal with cappuccinos, limoncello and grappa.

The Rocca Nuova is a beautiful ruin, there's not that much to see, but the scenery is gorgeous, looking over valley and Mountains, the ýard'of the rocca with the olive trees is serene.
Walking around in that little town (beware, they still have afternoon closings and between 12 and 4 nothing is open!) you feel like you've gone back a few centuries. The entire village is beautiful, the old churches, everything. Definitely worth a morning or late afternoon if you're in the region.

Henry Moore, one the great sculptors of the 20th century, called Pisano the first modern sculptor. The pulpit here at Sant'Andrea is one of his masterpieces and this piece alone make Pistoia a place that might be visited. Less than a half hour from Florence, Pistoia is a quiet town not inundated by tourists -- the pulpit here is a 13th century work that predates the Renaissance. Pisano worked at both Pisa and Siena. Here the pulpit has five reliefs: the Annunciation and Nativity; the Adoration, the Dream of the Magi and the Angel warning Joseph; the Massacre of the Innocents; the Crucifixion; and the Last Judgement. Remarkably fine work where people come alive.

Very few people, even in Tuscany, know that the ancient village of "Buggiano Castello" (immediately west of Montecatini spa town) has a number of private Gardens where, along with other trees, citrus are grown.
This means not only citrus in pottery vases, to be transported indoors in the cold season: which is possible everywhere ( the Orangerie - "Oranzereja", can be found even in Petrozavodsk imperial palace, St. Petersburg, Russia). But also citrus trees into permanently open spaces: oranges, lemons, cedars, grapefruits, etc.
This advantage is given by the particular Buggiano Castello microclimate: the site is sheltered north from a steep hill (in fact that some Gardens, less sheltered by this hill, contain no citrus) and, apparently, also favored by the presence of the ancient "Padule di Fucecchio" marsh in a part of the plain below, which as a mass of water (though shallow), also contributes to keep the winter locally milder.
The luxurious Gardens of Buggiano Castello (rich not only of citrus but also of other trees and flowers) inspired an initiative that, starting from 1997 every three years and from 2011 every two years, provides opening to the public of these Gardens, for a few days in the spring (in 2017 on two consecutive Sundays, April 30 and May 7). The initiative is named "La campagna dentro le mura" (ie "The countryside inside the walls").
Visiting the Gardens is a fascinating experience (if the weather isn't rainy, as it happened in the afternoon of May 7, 2017), highly recommended, but it's a rare experience: it takes place just every two years and just two days, so It isn't easy to seize this opportunity.
In other periods of the year the visitor can only observe the part of the Gardens which is seen by the public street, yet he can anyway have an idea of this Buggiano Castello's agronomic peculiarity.
During the event the entrance to the village is for a fee (8 Euros). There is a free shuttle service to the village from the nearby town "Borgo a Buggiano" (the distance is anyway also walkable: 900 mts.). IN Borgo in Buggiano there is also the train station, with train rides to and from Florence and Lucca, hourly or so.
In normal times the village is amazing even for its silent and peaceful character: there are no shops at all, there is only one café, most of the homes are empty and are now used as second homes.
At the highest point of the village, the ancient dungeon (in ruins), the "Palazzo Pretorio" and the "Madonna della Salute" church complement the charm of the site.

Sat in Denmark watching the Giro, commented by Rolf Sørensen (former proff cyklist) where he recommended the place. We decided to visit the place on our next visit in Italy. It was a fantastic experience and we bene there twice now. We can only recommend it. Words best cappuccino.
