We took the Private Shuttle from Cesky Klumlov to Salzberg, and Salzbert to Hallstatt on the following day.
They are very responsive with emails enquiries. I booked 2 months ahead, and only paid minimum sum as deposit via online payment 2 weeks before the trip. I choose to pay the rest by cash on the day just in case they didn’t turn up.
Few days before the trip, Daniel reached out on the pickup location & timing, and the driver turned up ahead of time for both days.
The vehicles were clean, spacious & comfortable, and the rides were smooth. It will be even better if they could accept credit card upon pickup instead of cash settlement.

5 Fingers

While we loved the Dachstein-Salzkammergut experience (30 EUR Panorama ticket including 3 cable cars, Welterbespirale, Dachstein Shark, 5 Fingers), the 5 Fingers platform itself is just OK. The view from the Krippenstein mountain station is fantastic even without the viewing platforms. It was also very crowded at the platforms. You get the same view and fewer people by doing the Heilbron Circular Trail - hike from Krippenstein mountain station to Heilbronner Cross then to Gjaid valley station and take the 3rd cable car back to Krippenstein. 5 stars for the views; 3 stars for the touristy viewing platforms.

Gosauseen

This lake is a charm! The lake itself, its surroundings, the Dachstein Mountains over it - all is natures best and we found out through a leaflet we spotted in our hotel.
There are different ways to go to Gosausee from Salzburg by public transport:
There is the frequent bus 150 to Bad Ischl, 1 hour, and from there to Gosausee bus 542 (maybe a change in Hallstatt Gosaumühle), 50 minutes and about € 15. If you start early you can include Hallstatt (change bus in Hallstatt Gosaumühle).
Upon reaching the lake, we took the cable car to the Gablonzer Hütte and enjoyed some great views. There are many hiking trails (maybe to long for a daytrip), a short and easy hiking trip to Hinterer Gosausee.
Highly recommended!

We took electric powered boat out for an hour. 20 euro which I thought was quite reasonable. You can fit 4 comfortably. The views from the water are just amazing. We saw and heard (band) a wedding procession, a real treat. The Mountains around Hallstadt are very scenic.

Hallstatt-Dachstein - Salzkammergut Cultural Landscape

This review is for the Dachstein-Salzkammergut region; I will post the review for Hallstatt on the Old Town attraction listing.
Unlike most mountain/cable car tourist attractions in Austria (such as Untersberg in Salzburg and Nordkette in Innsbruck), the Dachstein website was very informative about the attractions and hiking options. We were able to plan ahead and decide which ticket to purchase. There are 5 ticket types so be sure to visit the website beforehand.
We visited Dachstein on a Tuesday in early July. We drove down from Salzburg and arrived around 11am. The parking lot was almost full, and there was a long queue at the ticket office because most people didn't know which ticket to buy. We bought the 30 EUR Panorama ticket, which includes 3 cable car rides, Welterbespirale, Dachstein Shark, and 5 Fingers.
Since the ticket office was the bottleneck, the cable car rides were not crowded. The view from the Krippenstein mountain station (after 2 cable cars) is fantastic, even without going on the viewing platforms. We did the Welterbespirale and 5 Fingers viewing platforms first then looped back to the mountain station to do the Heilbronner Circular Trail, which includes the Dachstein Shark. The 3-hour trail goes from the Krippenstein mountain station to the Heilbronner Cross then to the Gjaid valley station, from which you take the third cable car back to Krippensten. Although the viewing platforms were fairly crowded, there were very few people on the trail. It's an easy trail since it's mostly downhill and the trail condition is good. The view from the trail is amazing - beautiful karst landscape that is partially covered in snow and partially with wildflowers. There are very good signs at every junction. After the hike, we enjoyed a very reasonably priced beer at Krippenstein before descending the mountain. It was our favourite hike in Austria.

Old Town

Reviewed By Rachel_PRL - Singapore, Singapore

Charming old town with picturesque view every angle. You can get Instagram worthy photos everywhere regardless of your photography skills.
The town is a good size to cover within 2 hours. But we took our time checking the interesting shops. One of the gift shop has a pre-historic digging size at the basement.
There are some small cafe/restaurants in the town, some facing the magnificent view. Would be nice to sit by the water during summer.
Another interesting point to check out is the bone church and the cemetery right next to it. Probably the cemetery with the best view in the world!
