The 10 best Ranches in Michigan, United States

April 18, 2023 Osvaldo Hartline

Think you need an ocean for a beach? Think again. There are miles and miles of sandy lakefront beaches in Michigan (thanks to the four Great Lakes that border it). The west coast of Michigan has especially nice beaches—try a rental in Muskegon, Grand Haven or Saugatuck. You won’t need a car when visiting Mackinac Island. In fact, they’re not allowed—this lovely Victorian resort town is pedestrian-only.

“Beautiful Views & Clean Cabins”

Reviewed By Nanney12

My husband and I spent a few days at Paradise Beach Resort and enjoyed our stay. Our cabin was right on the beautiful Lake Huron beach. The views are amazing and so beautiful. I love listening to the sound of the waves on the beach. Our cabin was a little rustic but very clean and cozy. It would be a great place for kids too, so close to the beach. The owners are super nice and very accommodating. Lou was very available. If he’s not in the office, he’s on the grounds and you just call him and he calls back immediately. The essentials are also provided in your cabin. I definitely would recommend Paradise Beach.

Wonderful Family Trip!

Reviewed By kellyjeanhanson

We plan a yearly family trip for our 4 sons & their families, we rented two houses here. It was a wonderful experience. Houses were clean and well equipped, the grandkids loved the indoor & outdoor pools, basketball court, & playground areas. We rented two pontoon boats and the day we had them it rained & they were kind enough to allow us to change the rental to the next day since the boats were available-the grandkids loved it, we all went out in the morning, then the guys & grandsons went out fishing in the afternoon. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, very kind staff. Thank You for making our Family Trip a success!

I called at 6 pm and they were able to accommodate. I was given perfect directions to use when I called. The place was lit up "like a Christmas Tree" and was very east to find. I was also able to arrive later and Larry came right out when we pulled in and was very welcoming. He showed us to our cabin right on the lake. It was warm, clean, and inviting inside. Everything was perfect.

My family of ten made reservation gave credit card over phone with resort staff member. Supplied phone number and email. They took down my email incorrectly and because they never tried calling me admitted that themselves they canceled my reservation without telling me. I called to confirm info a week before we were to arrive and they said sorry out of luck no option for another date not option for a different cabin. Horrible experience if you do decide to book here I would call weekly to ensure you actually have a place to stay when you get there.

NO U.P. VACATION & DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN REFUNDED

Amy, the owner, cancelled our reservation six days before our arrival date. She cashed our $300 deposit check back in April. We were supposed to arrive today, July 31st, but she called us on July 25th and said sorry I overbooked and you’re out. Reservations in the U.P. are made well in advance so there was no vacancy for a cabin on the lake like we had planned. OUR FIRST VACA SINCE COVID HIT WAS RUINED BY DANA’S LAKESIDE RESORT. Further, OUR DEPOSIT HAS STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED. If you like taking chances with your vacation time from the office and deposit $, this is definitely the place…if not, avoid this place for sure.
