Delightful Weekend Retreat
Reviewed By PRK916We stayed at Bay West. It was recently updated. From the floors to the ceiling and everything in between! Looks like lots of custom craftsmanship from the bed to the kitchen table. Even the storage for our things, which was a good size for our 3 day stay. Came with a small kitchen that was fully furnished (dishes, utensils, dish soap, etc.) with everything we needed to make our own food to save a little on lunch instead of going out for every meal. Fridge with freezer was good size for our food and drinks. Good size bathroom with toiletries included. Was able to log into my account for winding down watching tv at night on the Roku TV. It got into the 60's during the day and down to the 40s at night, so having the Air-condition and Heat was key for keeping the room nice and comfortable. I saw a previous review that there wasn't Air conditioning, so that must be another update they have done. The view from the room of Lake Superior and Madeline Island was picturesque. And just as enjoyable sitting out on the deck having a drink and playing games. We didn't light the fire pit, but nice outdoor space to guests. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do from the restaurants, shops and the ferry to Madeline Island. If you are wondering what to do just check out the book they provide. It has lots of recommendations and their story. This family owned place will definitely be where we will book next time we are in the area.

Reviewed By Frank VSimple but extremely comfortable motel. Rooms are of the old school style with doors opening to the exterior. Beds comfortable with quality sheets and towels. Atmosphere is quiet, great for a good night of sleep. Front desk staff is friendly and very accommodating. You feel at home at this motel. No breakfast is provided with the stay, but with the money you save you can go out to get a breakfast of your choice. Short drive to Concordia University and Kapco Park.

This was an extremely busy time for the hotel because of EAA but the staff did a good job of taking care of everything. We had several rooms due to an anniversary party and all reservations were handled well

Reviewed By JART1982Avoid Quality Inn in La Crosse, WI. It is bleak. Dark and smells bad. Bed was uncomfortable. Staff was friendly enough but only managers could give any information. Just a miserable stay. La Crosse fills up for their annual Octoberfest and all the prices go up. While the Quality Inn was not the most expensive, it was still too much to pay for those accommodations.

At least we felt safe
Reviewed By Melodee MSeriously, we didn't expect much given the nightly price, but the beds were uncomfortable, the towels were threadbare and tiny tiny, the decor extremely outdated. The room was dark and musty. The sink was cracked and the hot water took awhile to come up. The toilet paper was 1ply and scratchy (I went out and bought some). We were were left with 2 towels (there are two of us) and I went downstairs to ask for 2 more towels and the owner/manager asked me to bring the other 2 towels back and she would replace. She could not understand that I wanted a total of 4 towels to use. Finally I got through to her. Bottomline, we did not have a choice to stay here as a mess up in scheduling put us here for 3 nights, in the future, I will pay the difference to stay elsewhere.
