The beach is great and there is so much to do on the island. We went island hopping and snorkeling in the shipwreck and coral reefs, cave exploring, and cliff jumping all in one day! The food was amazing too. I had the best burger of my life. The best part is that the people are super friendly and fun. The owner is super accommodating. He even toured us around himself. 10/10 would come back for that alone.

This place is right in the middle of town with many places to eat and go shop. The room staff as well as the receptionists were very helpful and jovial. Sadly our door was broken and the place was a bit rundown.

I came here first in April of 1994. That’s over 25 years ago. Awesome place (sights/nature); and hospitality by the manager (Shiela Seals) and the owner (Mayor Montano). The food served was fresh and very tasty.

Nice, quiet place but service can be better

Reviewed By MJ9713

The place is nice, the salt water infinity pool is beautiful. It's quiet. The two small pools however were dirty, and so was the CR. Also the service could be better. We had to ask for things twice. One thing I didn't like about it is that the only vegetarian option for the day package guests is a bland pizza margherita. A day package is 600 php per person, which is more than at most resorts in Dauin. And those other resorts offer a better variaty of vegetarian options.

Enjoyed my stay

Reviewed By TracyNavarro

First time I stayed here was in August 2011. I chose it then because of its close proximity to Calea, and I was a pastry arts student during that time. It was excellent value for money; not as expensive as the main hotel, but the room was in a very good condition, SULIT talaga! This year, I went back to Bacolod with my family and stayed at L'Fisher Chalet again. Customer service was on point. The friendly staff, even the security guards, always greeted guests with a smile. The hotel is, of course, a bit older but still in good condition. Great options in the breakfast buffet. It may be best to eat at 8 a.m. because when we did a 9 a.m. breakfast on a Sunday, they were running low on some food items and it took time for kitchen to replenish. They also ran low on coffee cups and it took a while for F&B to keep up. Just be patient and understanding, peak hours are really challenging. Must try restaurants / pastry shops / cafes within walking distance to the hotel: Felicia's (ensaymada) Calea (white chocolate cheesecake) 21 (batchoy, blue marlin, bibingka, chocolate cake) Cafe Bob's Bongbong's (for pasalubong shopping) Chicken House (which I liked better than Aida's)

Sugar Beach House

The resort is located 10 steps from the "sugar beach" and has 3 independent rooms with air conditioning and bathroom with hot shower. The restaurant offer an authentic Italian food and also Asian dishes as Thai and Filipino food and a lot of good drinks as fresh juices, wines, tropical cocktails and craft beers made in Philippines. You can enjoy with us your breakfast, lunch and dinner and merienda. Sugar Beach is a paradise for those who love the sea and swim, the sand under the sea is pure without sea urchins and stones, it's definitely the best beach for swimming in the Philippines. Furthermore, the scenario that frames the beach is wonderful, with tropical hills that end up in the sea. There are many beautiful diving and snorkelling sites around like in Danjugan and Turtle island and outdoor activities like island hopping, kayak, trekking, bays and white beaches. A very good diving center is located just 2 minutes walking from the us.

Confused

Reviewed By Cupcake707

I’m going to start this off by saying that I’m easy to please. The room was fine. Wouldn’t expect more for the price. Didn’t really get the idea that the “restaurant” was an option, so don’t get any big ideas on eating there. I saw a worker in the dining area once, in 48 hours, but she was doing laundry. No wifi. No hot water. That’s all fine, as well. I’m just really not a fan of false advertisement. If you have luscious designs on sitting on the beach and watching the waves roll in, bring a towel. There is one seat, under a palapa roof with a hole in it. You probably won’t be able to sit in the one seat though, because the employee was holding it down quite a bit, since It’s the only place on the property with any phone reception. I had some important things to tend to at home, is the only reason I cared about being able to use my phone. Literally every other place on the beach has some sort of seating/dining area/something/anything with sea view access. I mean, who doesn’t want to sit comfortably, and watch the sunset? I paid for four nights here. I left after two. ONLY because I arrived just at dark the first night, and didn’t find the next AMAZING spot until late afternoon the next day. I have provided a photo of the sea view seating.

Northland Resort Hotel

Some good, some bad

Reviewed By profits101

I stayed in the Presidential Suite because I had extra family to host. I guess I expected a little better. On the positive side, they have absolutely improved their WiFi - connection was perfect, as good as the 5 star I had left in Bacolod. The room was large, with lot of furniture and bedding, and the size worked out well for the family. My complaint is this - this was an ambitious and somewhat decently constructed resort, but the lack of maintenance has sent it backwards quickly. Drop a piece of food on the floor and ants will be all over it, and when you look closer they are near the floor windows, and in the CR hunting for water. Dear Maintenance - work on your insect problems. Also, the room had a nice divider of bamboo slats - well, once upon a time it did. One panel was missing and the one "moveable panel" was smashed off its track and the thing was a shambles. Pity. The courtyard has a nice looking fountain, but I'm guessing it hasn't functioned in years and is now just a catch basin for mosquito larvae. Really, why not throw a few pesos at this kind of problem at your "high end" rooms and get it fixed? And while you're at it, put a fresh coat of paint not the rain-beaten, weathered patio floor up there? Actually, looking at the door to our room, I think some scenario had unfolded where someone couldn't get in the room because the lower portion of the door looked like it had obviously been kicked in. Not very secure. The food vendors in the lower hall serve the local filipinos well, but the flies are really so numerous - really, can something not be done about that? I work hard to remind myself I am way out int he province in this Philippine location, but the effort to stay at the level it should be seems very minimal to me? So, in closing... I would dearly love to be the manager of this resort and I would get my maintenance team in order because this place is taking a horrible slide backwards.
