Superb Economical overnight!

During the fortnight that I was helping my brother & his wife relocate from KissimmeeFL to FloydVA, we needed to move household items from RollaMO too. With a rare day off, we decided to do what everybody should do when in the Ozarks during the Summer: float a clear/cold stream! As I had made reservations with Mark at outdoor adventures (formerly Fagans) in Steelville, this fine motel was the best/closest/least expensive overnight to ensure being on the water by (09:00). It’s location was very easy to access off I-44, the main artery between Chicago & Santa Monica (formerly US66, the “mother road”). The ground level 2-bedded room was perfect accommodation for me & my best friend from high school (class of ‘74). While no brekkie is available, there is a succulent McDonalds adjacent next door, also perfect for me to start my day with coffee and a delicious “#2”! The bed is quite comfortable, the bathroom more than adequate, and the flat screen full of color/sharp images. I found my discussion with the owner/operator illuminating when speaking about locations in India, notably Mumbai (formerly Bombay), and I am looking forward to returning once this cursed COVID19 is under control. This is definitely my kind of overnightery, and it certainly has my coveted “¡Wheel of History!”

When we first arrived, I was unhappy with the pull out couch. The mattress had the springs sticking up and could not be slept on. But they did bring a roll away that my granddaughter slept on. We had a minor problem with the upstairs toilet, but they fixed it right away. The staff are very nice and will help with anything. The cabin we had, had a hot tub, which my granddaughter absolutely loved. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely recommend these cabins. We will definitely return next year.

Old, but nice accommodations

This sweet hotel is a good choice while traveling through. Our room was on the main level, front side. We liked being able to park right in front of our room. At first the noise from the nearby highway seemed really loud, but when we were in the room with the door shut and the air conditioning running, the noise was minimal. Our room was small, but clean. It smelled old and musty when we first entered, but this is an older hotel and that should be expected. The smell cleared after we started the air conditioning unit. Beds were very comfortable. There wasn't much for breakfast; you could make a waffle or have cereal. That's about it. But they had coffee hot and waiting! This is not a luxury hotel, but we would recommend it to others and would stay here again.

This was a beautiful state park lodge! We stayed 2 nights. We had a room with a kitchen but we had to improvise when we cooked our pizza because there were no pot holders. They were also a bit skimpy with the dish soap, which we had to ask for multiple times before we finally got some. The room was clean and large. Next time we might try a cabin.

This was my 3rd time visiting Cedar Stone Lodge and I have been impressed every time I have been there. This trip my husband and I stayed in the Bunk House. It was very quaint with a homey feel. There's a little kitchen are where you can keep your drink cold, have a cup of coffee, microwave a snack or wash a dish or two. There is a small bar with stools to sit and eat. The bed is Kingsize and very comfortable. You have a flat screen tv in your room with access to plenty of channels. There is a full tub and shower combo which is perfect for whichever way of bathing you prefer. There is even a grill outside for cooking up some burgers, hot dogs or steaks. The scenery around the lodge is pretty to look at and their are several amazing places to visit just a short drive from this location. There's an old mill, a waterfall and a very deep sink hole, and a little further away one of the larger springs in Missouri. If fishing, kayaking or canoeing is more your style we have some of the best in the country. Harvey's canoe rental will even pick you up from the lodge and return you when your trip is done. If you get a chance to come visit make the time to do so, you won't regret it.

We stayed here for a week. It was so much fun we extended our stay. The property is spacious where you are not on top of other families. The cabins are well maintained and comfortable. We stayed in cabin 16 and had 4 adults and 4 kids. There are nice nature paths around the property that lead you to their private dock. The cover is awesome and still. The docks are powered and offer great protection to the water craft. The kids loved the water trampoline. The hills are a little steep but we just add the hikes to our daily activity routine. Others can rent golf carts if you are hauling things between the boat and cabin.
