Reviewed By tsalim579746We had such a lovely stay, the care team was excellent especially Armando/President he was exceptional!! Professional and warm service. The place is rustic and beautiful- we also met other amazing people there. Food was also lovely.

Amazing stay in every way possible

The daily (free!!) laundry service was also a really nice touch. Will definitely come back if I’m ever in Tofo again - worth every dollar spent!

Amazing place for diving and beach

Very good diving, with enough team members to provide customized support where needed but let you free when you want. And they are fun to hang out around the diving. Nice location with direct access to a fantastic beach and a town with some local restaurants on short walking distance. The on-site restaurant has fabulous breakfast and lunch. The cocktails I found overpriced and not too interesting though. The rooms are everything you need and everything in proper working order. My only comment is that the place could use a bit more decoration to give it some character, especially inside the rooms.

Quality accommodation at a good price
Reviewed By Robert OStayed four days at Mozambeat and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation and service. Dorm beds are comfortable. Mosquito nets and fans are effective. Excellent hot and cold shower outside. Very clean. Unrestricted WiFi in the common areas. Pleasant ambience in a well maintained garden area with a pool. Very friendly staff. Wish, I had known before about this place, as I stayed one week at Pariango closer to the beach, but of a much lower standard. Fatima's as well offers much less quality. Moreover the price at Mozambeat is better, though there is no shared kitchen facility. Wake-up service at 3:45 AM worked well. The guard accompanied me to the main road and flagged down the bus to Maputo. Really excellent service. The management has the ability to put themselves in your situation (rare in Mozambique!) and help out.

Perfect honeymoon getaway
Reviewed By lexigreen2022We had the most wonderful honeymoon at Khumba. Khumba was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful beach and even stargaze from our ocean view room! Steven and the staff are so friendly and accommodating and would go out of their way to make us feel at home. The food and coffee is also amazing at Khumba- definitively the best in Tofo. We’re getting excited to go back already!

Sat upon the dune overlooking Tofo bay and the Indian Ocean is Tilak Lodge, a beautiful African retreat. Situated 600m down from Tofo Scuba dive centre and approx. 1km from the centre of Tofo, it is an easy stroll into town for all the bars and restaurants but just far enough from the noise. Surrounding the courtyard are 12 double rooms complete with King Size / twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, hot water, tea/coffee facilities, fresh sheets and towels, AC, huge mosquito nets and outside seating for each room. 2 luxury “Buddy Rooms” with AC accommodating 8 people in each are also available: for individual travellers or group bookings. Our beach bar has sun decks on both sides to make the most of the spectacular sunrise and sunset views and serves delicious food from morning to night. There is direct access to the beach from the bar, creating a laid back atmosphere where you can enjoy your evenings with cool sunset drinks. We have FREE WIFI, a gated carpark and security guards on site.
Fantastic stay - home away from home
Reviewed By memypassportandiA friend and I just spent two weeks at Tilak Lodge, also diving at Tofo Scuba. We had an exceptional time, as Brodie and Dan took fantastic care of us. The lodge was comfortable, everything worked well, the food was tasty, the views of the beach and sunrise were lovely, and Brodie helped arrange everything (diving, snorkeling, transport, PCR tests, etc.). All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. It was so nice to be so well taken care of after having done a lot of independent travel. And they offer discounts if you stay and dive with them, which was superb! We saw several whale sharks and so many mantas! Also, just in general, Tofo was so safe, and there were some nice restaurants when we wanted to mix things up. I'm really sad to be leaving, as it definitely became a home away from home. Hopefully I can return someday.

Basic, but okay
Reviewed By Robert OPariango is at a good location near Tofo beach and market with public transport. No disco nextdoors, so it is quiet most of the time. Facilities are basic, but sufficient. Cold showers near the huts do the job, as usually it is rather hot in Tofo even at night. The shared kitchen is small, but I was able to cook there every evening. The fridge needs to be fixed, but was working more or less. Major drawback: WiFi access is restricted to facebook, whatsapp and instagram. You have to pay for extra data bundles (100 M per 1G). There is an extra charge for paying by credit card. It is better to book Pariango through a booking site in advance, as if you just turn up at the counter the cheaper accommodation options suddenly turn out to be "not available" and you are charged a higher rate. Don't expect support if you run into cash flow problems. ATMs in the wider Inhambane area including Maxixe did not work for some reason. I moved to Mozambeat where they helped me to solve this problem. Moreover, accommodation at Mozambeat turned out to be much cheaper than at Pariango. Avoid buying fruit from the vendors that are allowed on the Pariango premises. They promise to give you change, but then disappear never to return. Overall, my 8-day stay at Pariango was okay.
