If you are looking for a family or friends getaway this is the perfect luxury lodge. What's nice is they have fly-in option (private charter plane - 19 seater) direct from Lanseria to Inhambane (less then 2hr flight), makes it a perfect long weekend destination. The lodge has all luxury sea facing rooms with fabulous lounge/patio area up and downstairs of the lodge. There are 2 swimming pools with beach loungers and umbrellas which look directly onto the beach. We had 17 ladies for the trip and was honestly one of the best trips I have done. The breakfasts and dinners were fantastic and the staff are just SUPERB!!! We have already pre-booked our trip for 2023 :)

It s been a very long time I did not do any review on TripAdvisor but our last stay at Travessia made me change my mind because I think it is important to support such places. They have done an excellent job, as many nice places in Mozambique the posted pictures do not reflect how beautiful the place is. The food is also very good with an attentive service. Ben also introduced us to archery, private lesson with an ex champion, some were better than others :) We also loved our walks and swims with the dogs who are very friendly.

Nhanombe Lodge

Nhanombe Lodge offers a rustic, Mozambique-style feel in a bush-camp setting. The relaxed vibe of Mozambique is ever present here, giving all a chance to let loose and unwind. We have a fully serviced, self-catered camping area, double sleeper chalets and a 10-sleeper house to accommodate those from all walks of life. There is a bar, restaurant & dive centre on site.

The perfect camp site for small groups with ample shade

Reviewed By Riem

Last year we went Nhanombe Lodge intending to camp 4 days and then go further north to explore and do further camping. We only took a day trip to Paindane and Coconut Bay and after seeing those hot shadeless places we returned happily to Nhanombe with it shady trees. We ended up staying for 12 days and this year we went for 13 days. If you want peace and tranquility, that's the place to go to. It is situated in a little hollow behind the first dune which protects you from strong winds while still maintaining a good breeze. It has a small camp site that can accommodate about 8 to 10 vehicles with lots of trees which make it very cozy. When you walk into that shade it is like walking into an air conditioned room. It's as if there is a coolness that coming up from the sand. Even at the chalets and main building they did not cut off one tree unnecessary. They have a full kitchen, bar, full restaurant with a brick pizza oven and Fernando makes the best pizzas in Moz. The snorkeling on the reef is good and if you want company you can always take a 15 min walk down to beach to Zavora main beach company and a beer. As roads go in Moz , the 17 km dirt road from the N1 is not too bad. There is even sections that you can hit 50 km/h. It is only the last 1 km that you require a 4x4 to get up the dune.

Makolo Bay & Dive Africa

Raw beauty and a suitable venue to experience it from !

Reviewed By David J

The area is incredibly beautiful and doesn’t have the masses of people in Tofu, Ponto etc so for what we were after it was a perfect venue and location. The accommodation it self is great, it’s clean has ample space (sleeps ten) about 5 Meters from the most beautiful beach and warm ocean and also close by to some night life in the form of Neptune’s and Charlie’s bar. You won’t be disappointed at this venue but travelers expecting a hotel experience should manage their expectations it isn’t What’s on offer in this area or venue. The review reflects the location and venue performing relative to this.
