Reviewed By Journey672869I used to visit this hotel frequently on my travels in Mozambque in the years 1997 to 2008, I recently had to stop over in MAPUTO in late March and decided to stay for one night, what a disappointment. Although the hotel room was clean it was dated and and felt as if it had stood still for the last 10 year. I. Arrived at 21.30 in the evening and everything was closed down, I could not even sit down and have a cup of coffee on the terrace, managed to order a steak roll with fries from the kitchen but they ran out of potatoes to make the fries. Was still charged the full price 700 mzn (US $ 13.00 ) The price of the room was also high considering what you get in return ( 6800.00 mzn night ) all in all very disappointing

Memorable Holiday in Mocambique

From the time we booked through Bev and on site from Mandy we received amazing service -.Bev prepared us very well for our first trip on what was to be expected and available and Mandy was a super host during our lovely stay in the quaint Blue Cottage, ...nothing for both these Ladies were to much trouble for them - they are a formidable Winning Team running a beautiful clean, tidy, well kept resort only 500m from a private beach that has no end ...highly recommended and we will definitely stay there again!

The Honesty Bar was reasonably priced and extremely convenient. The rooms were nice and had everything you'd need. Great terrace looking over the city and inviting pool. The owner went above and beyond to help us figure things out - if we ever find ourselves back in Maputo I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Liv Inn Guest House offers the best of both worlds, the proximity of the beach and city center, with very good access roads, and the tranquility e exclusivity of a space with a reserved and warming atmosphere. I was also surprised and amazed by the room as it is such a tiny room as you'd expect to see in japan or so... anyway, we did arrive late and left early so there was not much to explore.. our friends had a dorm room which was almost the better option if you do like your space. If you are not planning on staying in the room all day with your partner, it should be fine. Closets are outside, since there is not much room in the room but I wonder who'd leave any values out there? Rooms did not have mosquito nets or mosquito doors, which was a little annoying, especially after a shower. I did enjoy the coziness but also, you are showering right above the toilet. It was an experience but the water does travel a certain distance and if you have any values nearby.... which is not far! Water pressure was a bit funny but it did warm up nicely. The facility is not huge but does include a pool, grill area, a lobby/ hangout area with Tv, books, games and magazines and right there is also the kitchen alongside some more private rooms. The late night snack was much appreciated, since the kitchen was already closed. The meal was an average burger but prepared by friendly service team. Check-in and our were easy with no issues. Over all, a nice little stay.

Conveniently located in a refined residential area. With four different rooms, for guests with different exigencies. Easy to reach from the Maputo International Airport, the house is at walking distance from supermarkets, restaurants and a taxi spot. The house caters for the needs of those staying in Maputo for a few days, willing to enjoy the comfort and most of the services offered in a hotel but at a more affordable price.
I wish I had found this place sooner...

The girl at reception is amazing, kudos to her. She was so kind and hospitable to me. Even the security guard is well mannered, polite and hospitable. I will definitely make a plan to stay there in the future.

Reviewed By moniqxThis is a really great place, so tastefully decorated, a perfect mix of comfort and modernity with african elements that make for a very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and super nice, the garden is beautiful and breakfast very good. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, the shower worked perfectly (one of those where you can easily get the desired water temperature) and there was enough space for all our stuff. Parking was a bit limited but we managed. But what made this place especially amazing was the big bed with a huge mosquito net. Unlike most places we've been in Africa, they have a big frame over the bed where the net hangs from, that keeps it perfectly aligned like 4 walls, staying in place the whole night. It actually felt romantic! I would absolutely recommend FigTree!!!

unfriendly old lady manager or owner?
Reviewed By alexaoki831hotel and staff is pretty good but the manager (old lady is very unfriendly and very arrogant.... i hope she change the attitude with the guest and try to be more friendly. our company use this hotel for a few times and i hope the other institution, company change this hotel for others. Price to compare to other hotels is a little bit expansive for a pension. dear manager, thank you very much for your unpleasant service and I hope this hotel get some one better than you. The Art of Hospitality in Center of Maputo
Not the worst I've stayed in.
Reviewed By psackerThe exterior and lobby are very nice and the location is ok. There are 2 very slow, very small, sometimes functioning elevators. The rooms need work, see photos. Chunks of bathroom tile missing, 3 out of 4 bulbs in bedside lights missing and fixtures broken, there was obviously some kind of flood from the bathroom that wrecked the plywood flooring. I'm gluten and dairy free so didn't trust any of the handful of things on the room service menu, some of our friends did and the reviews went from mediocre to inedible. There's apparentIy some sort of breakfast but after asking the staff in the cafeteria a couple of times if we could order something and being told no (at 7:50am, breakfast is advertised as being at 7:30), we went out for breakfast, which seems to be the smart move. If you just need something no frills to sleep for a night it did seem like the beds were clean but the water pressure in the shower is a luke warm trickle. Set your expectations and it's fine as a place to sleep for a night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

Reviewed By Sudhir KI stayed 3 months and found it to be a great place. very clean, located in diplomatic area, quite safe and a few good cafes are around. Breakfast is also good. Owner is a nice person and very helpful.
