Spacious clean self catering accommodation close to walks and centre of village
Reviewed By EmoarmyWe stayed here for 4 nights and found the place to be very good. For just the 2 of us it was perhaps way too big (we didn't use the entire upstairs) but prefer self catering when staying somewhere for more than a couple of nights. The location is good, very near the centre of the village but still was quiet and remote. Well equipped for an apartment and good value overall

From the access to the country mansion along a path lined with plants and bushes, the visitor reaches a garden surrounding the mansion where, with the passage of time, beautiful hundred-year old trees (birch, fir and pine) have formed a forest that gives shade to the Mansion. A river of sparkling, clear water pass runs through the estate on the west side, mingling with extensive, green grasslands, where the majestic sight of the Somiedo mountains can be seen. The impression given is that the entire estate, comprising the country mansion and the romantic landscape surrounding it has been astutely put there to give the hiker rest after enjoying the different excursions available in the area. The soul is soothed by its shelter and, the radiance of the day is taken over by the infinite murmuring of the night.
Peaceful paradise
Reviewed By BridgheManu and Ines were amazing hosts, the apartments so comfortable. We all slept like complete babies there, it was so peaceful. The setting of the hotel (so carefully restored) with the tower and the church, the pool for children and the hospitality shown by Manu and Ines made the stay unforgettable. Apartments are decked out with all amenities, and the icing on the cake was the intimate concert on site on the Saturday night. We will be back!

Lovely hotel in Remote Area
Reviewed By flor_y_cantoThis hotel is 4 kilometers further up from Pola de Somiedo, so be aware. It is in the lake region above. The host is a knowledgable and life-long resident of the mountain region. He had prepared the room beautifully for my three children and I, and the breakfast was ready for us when we arrived in the morning. The price was beyond affordable for the quality of the room and for the lovely surroundings. The restaurant a five minute walk down was fantastic.

Very secure feeling in a village, old but clean houses, great cider and cheese selection in inn made our day in there! We want to return someday again for more than one day!

Rural Hotel with no english spoken
Reviewed By 101SylviaAttractive traditionally constructed modern stone building. Our double room was too small, with small bed, no space to move around, store luggage, no desk/dresser. Nice shower room with WC, bidet & basin. Lounge with TV & bar. Dining room with breakfast selection served at the table and ample coffee refills available. Evening meals available. Wifi Small car park at the rear. Valle de Lago is an elongated village running up the high altitude valley. The hotel is one of a small number of village tourist accommodations available enabling visitors to walk within Somiedo area. Ample free car parking is located near the end of the road for day trippers. Due to our inability to speak spanish we got no tourist information. We chose this location for the walking, assuming that we would obtain local tourist information and use waymarked paths. The mountain walk that we undertook was poorly signed where we missed the path in the clouds on three occasions. We were glad to have and recommend GPS backup if you try this without any local advice.

Lovely place in Somiedo
Reviewed By North_MermaidBeautiful location at the end of the road which leads through the valley. It’s very quiet and in gorgeous scenery. Perfect base for hiking: the Lago de Valle, Brana de Sobrepena and Lagos de Saliencia trials start directly from here. Owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay very much. Love to come back and stay at La Corona del Auteiro again! Good-sized lovely decorated room with skylight and French window and amazing views, good bed, we could sleep here very well, decent bathroom with bathtub, on the ground floor common cozy lounge with open fire place, good breakfast including good bread, home-made cakes and cookies, different hams and cheeses, yoghurt and fruits. Delicious dinner, you need to order in the morning when you like to have dinner in the evening. Very good salads, tenderloin (solomillo) and entrecote were fabulous, big portions. When you are interested in culture, ask for a tour to the old mill (molino) on the grounds, 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

Reviewed By r0bert870Located in the centre of the village with parking outside. The rooms are well proportioned with comfortable chairs. The bathroom is modern, well equipped with a hairdryer & more importantly a good supply of hot water. There is free wifi. A lift to all floors plus a lounge area with comfortable chairs and TV.

He de resaltar la buena atención de Susana, todo el tiempo preocupada por que nuestra estancia fuera agradable, personas así hacen añadir valor a la estancia. Seguro que repetiremos estancia en este alojamiento. Sólo encontré a faltar que el apartamento, no hubiera una lavadora de ropa, pero por lo demás todo perfecto.
