This is THE place to stay when visiting Salon-de-Provence!

What a wonderful boutique hotel in a quaint medieval town! We arrived in Salon-de-Provence during a scenic drive exploring the surrounding towns of Marseille. It was so quaint and lovely we decided to stay the night. We happened upon Grand Hotel de La Poste as we walked by the famous Fountain Mousee (which is directly across the street). We were lucky that they had room for us. The owner, Christophe and his wife, was so warm and inviting and spent time getting to know us. Which was one of the reasons we fell in love with this place. We were definitely not just ‘another guest’ or at least they made us feel that way. The room was large, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located, right next to Fountain Mousee, Château de L'Emperi (12th century castle) the medieval arch into the old city, the museum Madison de Nostradamus (his home of 20 years) and walking distance to the famed Marius Fabre Soap factory. We shopped at the cute stores and bakeries in the town. This was a great experience and staying at this hotel made it all the more memorable! Mercy Christophe.

Garrigae Abbaye de Sainte Croix

Perched on the rocky outcrops of Salon-de-Provence, a tiny Provence town, which is ideally located to explore everything this delightful area has to offer, there is a tranquil spot where time would appear to have stood still. This 12th century abbey in the hearth of twenty hectares of Provencal gardens and garrigue offers spectacular views of the Alpilles Valley and the countryside surrounding Salon-de-Provence. The rooms still bear traces of the Cistercian monks who once occupied the abbey and boast a decor that blends charm and authenticity and provides a calm and restful atmosphere. You will be delighted with the hotel's attentive service and the culinary delights served in both restaurants which offer delicious dishes based on seasonal local ingredients.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The views are incredible. The property ambience is charming and peaceful. The property is well maintained and the staff is 5* attentive. The restaurant food was pricey and I've had much better while traveling throughout France. We enjoyed the pool and quiet time.

Hotel d'Angleterre

Short stay in Salon De Provence

Reviewed By Neil W

I visited the hotel for Two brief nights (arrived late Thursday night and had to leave at 5AM Saturday morning for return flights). The hotel seems to have had a slight makeover from the last pictures posted. It has a modern vibe and is very clean. Upon arrival, the young lady manning the desk over night had her young boyfriend accompanying her dressed in his finest sports vest and was extremely rude taking about me as I walked in the hotel and laughing presumably at the stupid Englishman!! The hotel back steps are still quite dilapidated but the new owner (I presume) is making an effort to spruce things up. The room I stayed in (26) top fo the shop was newly decorated, immaculate and o could not find fault at all with the place. Towels were provided for two guests but no shower gel or soap which was a bit of a let down as I was travelling light. The downstairs bar has been updated and generally the place is very nice. In contrast to me arrival, the staff on shift when I left were extremely polite and helpful and the young guy (seemed to be in charge) made me a coffee at 4AM and said if I needed anything it would not be any trouble. I would recommend a stay if you are in the area but maybe make sure you are allocated a new room.

We spent two unexpected nights at the Ibis after our car broke down. Staff were very helpful, especially the cleaning lady and late staff working Saturday 8th of August. Nice pool side area and swimming pool and added bonus. Plenty of essential shops close to the hotel. An unexpected gem. We would definitely recommend as a good budget choice.

My review is all in the title. This is a brand new hotel just a couple of minutes from the A54 autoroute, so it's ideal for a one night stopover, or business meeting venue etc. The only down side is that the approach road to the hotel is not yet properly surfaced, but it's not a problem.

En Route to Southern Provence for our summer break

Reviewed By Alan B

This town is 2 hours travel from our ultimate destination so an ideal stop over from the travel from the UK. Hotel nicely located, a swimming pool is nearing completion which would have been a marvellous cooling off point after a day in the summer heat in a car. The hosts were very accommodating when we asked if there was an evening meal they said they do not usually offer a meal on Friday evening but for us they would. We had a very nice steak & chips with local red wine excellent and far better than our previous night's experience in a chain of steak houses in Troyes. Breakfast again was excellent and we set off for our final holiday destination relaxed and well fed. Thank you for a wonderful one night stay.
