The 10 best hotels in Plymouth, United States

July 9, 2022 Veronika Gaddis

It's no wonder that the Pilgrims fell in love with America when they landed at gorgeous Plymouth, set in the calm waters of Plymouth Harbor along Cape Cod Bay. It was here that the first English colonists made war and then peace with the Natives, celebrating their newfound cooperation with the first Thanksgiving dinner. Visit the landmarks that honor this piece of American history, from Plymouth Rock to Mayflower II to Burial Hill. Or just enjoy the sandy beaches and calm sea breeze.

Nice but ….Not the same at night

Came for a nice evening/stay/massage. The spa bar area closed upon our arrival an hour before our massage even started (massage was scheduled for 8pm and employees exited at 7). Upon completion of our massage we were told “the indoor spa area was closing.” Massage was nice but the facility was basically shut down. Getting back into our room at 9pm we weren’t even fortunate enough to have a bottle of water here waiting. Why schedule late massages if you can not give the full experience? We feel jipped.

Great stay! Staff at check in was friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is located right downtown….5 minute walk for dinner and live music on the water front. The woman at check in recommended a few places to eat which was great! Looking forward to my next stay.

If it bothers you to beg for toilet paper don't stay here. They advertise a pool, hot tub, fitness room....none of that is open. There are other hotels in the area in the same price range that actually provides the amenities they advertise. And toilet paper is provided without having to go down to the desk and ask for it.

Overpriced, Poor Service

Reviewed By roseyemily

Stayed for my birthday this weekend and I can say with certainty it was the worst stay I have had at a hotel. The hotel itself is rundown and just grungy or dirty feeling. No microwave in the room, what hotel doesn't today. The onsite restaurant is a joke. Poor service, poor food and overpriced at that. If all this is not bad enough, no one in our group was able to get sleep Saturday night from the noise. We were not sure if the music was coming from other rooms or the restaurant. Whatever the noise was nobody from the hotel seemed to care. Slept about 3 hours and checked out first thing. Would recommend lodging and food elsewhere.

Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach

Oceanfront motel in Plymouth.

great location, noisy lounge

Reviewed By Cheryl M

We selected Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach in Plymouth. It was right on the water. We got the last room available for the holiday weekend. There was an outdoor pool but we never got to it. It looked nice. Families seemed to enjoy it. We had a second story room with a balcony. It overlooked a marsh, where we were able to watch ospreys, swans, blue herons, geese and redwing blackbirds. While I would have loved the ocean view side, if you ignored the road and the parking lot, this water view was also nice. At the other side of the building, there was an area with tables, chairs and lounge chairs that looked out over the ocean. The beach below was covered at high tide, but visible most of the time. It had a lovely sunrise view. Inside, there was an indoor pool and hot tub. This would be a great spot for families. We did use them both once. The hot tub only had 4 back jets and one foot jet. The pool was a little chilly. There was the Sandcastle Lounge at the hotel with a bar and full menu. This was more of a CON than a PRO in my book. The loud music began in the afternoon, and made it impossible to sit out and enjoy quiet ocean views in the afternoon and evening. It was very loud. Thankfully we did not hear it from our room. We did not eat there. Overall, the hotel was fairly clean and well located. It wasn’t the Hilton, but it wasn’t Motel 6 either, maybe a step above. The decor was kind of beach kitsch, like they shopped at Christmas Tree Shop. It was a short drive to the Mayflower and busy waterfront area, which made it easy to navigate. It was hard to know when to expect cleaning. Morning 1 we didn't need it, and just got shampoo from the front desk. Morning 2, despite the fact we had a door hanger for maid service, our room was missed for cleaning on morning 2. We left at 10:30 when they were cleaning rooms on each side of us, so didn't think we needed to make a request beyond the door hanger. When I called at 2:30, they said the maids had all left. They brought me towels, and apologized. They were very good about getting someone there at 9 AM the next morning. We stayed 4 nights, so it would be nice if it was a little more reliable about when to expect cleaning so you could plan to leave the room. The front desk staff was helpful and polite. A decent value for waterfront property. New lines needed in parking lot. Many people were not parking inside the lines. Thankfully I was able to find parking but it was pretty full. Checkout was as simple as dropping the key in a basket.
