Great stay for families!

This resort was spectactular! My kids in particular loved the pool and it was a decent size. Good for both small and older kids. The room was spacious and the location was phenomenal. The only complaint I would have is that the portacot didn't look the cleanest. Not sure if they are outsourced but ours was stained but apart from that no other fault. I would definitely stay again!!

Average experience on this stay at Peppers, Palm Cove

Booked two room for myself and friends. One room 2132 was OK ( friends room) Room 1322 ( mine and my partners room ) was below average for the price I paid, which was over $8000 for the two rooms. Shortage of pool towels . None available on two occasions. We need to wash the towels ourselves to ensure that we had clean towels for the pool area. Most of the pool bar staff seemed to be unhappy doing their work - not many smiles from them ! On the positive side the Hotel is in a great location. Across the road from the beach and the safety swim area. Pool bar food was great. Not long too wait and always hot. The variety of drinks from the bar was good although they were a little weak on the alcohol content. Overall I would stay there again if they looked after us a bit better.

Relaxing luxury resort

Reviewed By JodieTravel01

A beautiful property right on the beach at Palm Cove but far enough away from the main thoroughfare to feel very quiet and exclusive. We really enjoyed what was a huge, well fitted out, luxury apartment - excellently equipped kitchen, lounge, balcony, master bedroom and a very spacious bathroom. it wasn’t cheap for one night in the high season but we felt worth the splurge. The Sea Temple Restaurant was very good and the massive pool area that is a feature of this resort gorgeously well lit at night. We had spa treatments and again very good. There were a few minor things - it’s a compact resort and because the rooms all face in towards the pool it can be a bit noisey at night, depending on the location of your room and the neighbours. The air conditioner needed a clean and the pool area also would have benefited from an early morning gurney. We really enjoyed our stay.

So so Palm Cove hotel

Reviewed By WorldTravla7

I stayed for a night in the room right next to reception. I thought $203 a night was expensive compared with the fancier Drift Palm Cove where I stayed the following night for $116. The location is good as it is right on the Esplanade adjacent to the beach & cafes and there is in fact a decent cafe called Underground (great artwork) just outside. There is a car park out the back but it is unsecured and uncovered. The room was nice & large with everything you needed and plenty of room. Upstairs is nice pool area with views out over Palm Cove and I enjoyed a relaxing night time swim. The hotel is very laid back and less modern and slick than other resorts in Palm Cove but likely more affordable as a result. It was a windy few days in in Palm Cove so I couldn’t go kayaking as I’d planned due to choppy seas however I got a kick out of the sign from the local surf club saying “Beach closed due to crocodile”.

The resort was averagely good and staff was very helpful and friendly so no complain there. It’s Walking distance to the beach and restaurants . Resort pool was under maintenance but pool and spa areas were open . Cons: the couch in our room was spotted and not very clean . Pool is not solar heated and due to palm trees and tropical trees surrounding it the sun could not help either so it was very cold and I couldn’t swim . My daughter’s lips turned blue every time she tried to swim for a few minutes . The spa was not very hot and the spa jets not that strong so this whole aspect of the resort was not enjoyable and felt disappointed.the whole resort was outdated and needs a lift up , the two bedrooms had only glazed window/ sliding doors separating them so privacy was an issue But overall served our purpose well being close to all attractions in cairns and we didn’t stay there during the day , but at night it was lovely and quiet to sit on the balcony and drink wine .

Bus transport to nearby restaurants, Cairns, etc. was outside the door.

Great for some but not everyone

Reviewed By 76DavidM76

These apartments are probably 30 to 40 years old and whilst they are clean and presentable they are getting outdated. The bed in ours was new but the furniture was very very tired. To access a ground floor unit from the car park it's approximately 14 steps, double that if you are on the first floor. There is no lift and the owners/managers are too old to provide porterage for luggage up the stairs. Given the access situation we were surprised that most guests appear to be 65+. This is a couples resort, maybe 3 people Max. The location is great and nearly all rooms have ocean views. Would we come back, maybe? Another tip, we got a price directly and also a price via our travel agent, surprisingly the travel agent was 20% cheaper!

Elysium The Beach Club

Paradise far from home...

Reviewed By Leelou1317

We stayed in this beautiful place in July 2019 for 3 days. Definately could have stayed longer and intend to return to do just that, hopefully in the near future. The service was excellent (the lady at reception whos name escapes me was so accommodating, she even drove us to the resort and showed us to our room. I was very impressed and thankful for her hospitality, the little things make all the difference), the facilities were great and the whole resort was spotlessly clean. We had a great pool view with a very private balcony area. The pool area is stunning and of course the pool bar is a bonus! As a romantic get away for couples I'd highly recommend this place and the Palm Cove area in general. Its beachfront location was a huge bonus with fantastic views and just a few steps away from a variety of restaurants, quaint little shops and a tranquil walk along the shoreline. Everywhere we went the people were friendly and welcoming. The weather was perfect, not too hot that time of year. Because we are from overseas, we didnt realise that we booked our stay during a school holiday so next time we will be more careful with our timing. Not that it was over run with kids or that I have anything against it (been there, done that). I just wasnt expecting it. There is also a more private part of the complex which offers a more secluded and quiet area with a unique pool area (rainforest style, very unusual) where room terraces open out poolside. I'd like to experrience that next time too. If I was to find any fault in the room itself it would be that the jacuzzi plug wasnt adequate and we had to keep topping up the water to avoid it emptying constantly. Other than that the room was lovely, clean, private and the bed was very comfortable. We will be back to Elysuim and Palm Cove and look forward to exploring the surrrounding area next time.
