Stayed on a comp over Memorial Day weekend Sat-Tues (my feedback would be the same if the room was paid). Opted for mobile check in which was convenient and was able to obtain my room around 2PM. Albeit I didnt have to stand at a check in line, I still had to stand in line for my key which is counter-productive. Would be nice if there was a single kiosk for online check ins. The crowd there is mostly people 50+ who want to stand in line...I dont. I want my key quickly so I can jet. Lady checking me in was very nice...BS'd with her a few minutes since no one was in line behind me. Assigned a room on the 4th floor. View of the parking lot---didnt care since the elevator up/down to the room was quick. The hallway though smelled bad---I would have preferred cigarettes but this was OLD MAN BODY ODOR-----was terrible. It even stuck with me til we got into our room---I was like, is that me all of a sudden? Did I sweat and auto-smell? Why does it smell like a musty old man in the hallway? The stink lingered for two days and then by Monday it was gone. Anyways, the room was clean and tidy. Didnt inspect every corner of the room but the general appearance was that it was clean. Enjoyed the spacious bathroom and shower mostly. TV needs to be upgraded from a 32 inch to at least 40 inch considering they have the space for it. Small fridge worked fine. Didnt use the coffee maker. Bed comfy, pillows, not so much. Had a hard time sleeping night 1 but built a pillow fort and was able to get some descent sleep the following nights. For it being a holiday weekend, didnt really hear or see anyone on the floor. Was very quiet. Water pressure in the shower was A+. Everything seemed to work just fine. Again, this rating is just for the room/check in experience. Not the casino or restaurants.

The young front office staff welcomed us making me feel at home with the conversation we had. This was comforting know we were safe even being away from home. Alix and Linda were very informative on when and what was served during breakfast.

The Brewery Lodge is a 12-suite boutique hotel located on a 40 acre wooded tract filled with streams, ponds and wildlife. All of the suites are well appointed and offer peaceful views of the remote property. The main house was built in 1930, and has been recently updated to include a craft beer and cocktail bar, with several outdoor terraces, a spa, and is located just off exit 40 in Michigan City, IN. Our chef is serving a American Lodge style menu from Monday to Sunday 4pm-9pm. Also, join us for Sunday morning Brunch from 9 am to 1pm.

The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms and design layout are comforting yet classy. We shared the tomahawk steak dinner in the supper club, and I would highly suggest everyone should try this. Great wine selection, our Italian bottle of wine went perfectly with dinner and was only $28. Finally I’d like to mention how warm and friendly every member of the staff was. From check in to our supper club servers and chefs, to the lovely lady who showed us around our continental breakfast and then went and printed off a list of local things to do including hand writing the distance! I highly recommend staying here and exploring Michigan City!

Got done late in Chicago and didn’t want to get home late). Do not stay here. The outside and lobby seemed nice enough. Room sucked. Pretty sure one of the 2 beds was not redressed as the sheets were SIGNIFICANTLY more wrinkled than the other bed. The tv was fairly small but the remote was absolutely repulsive. It was so dirty and clearly has NEVER been cleaned. They had waffles instead of those gross machine pancakes so that was nice but the scrambled eggs tasted like they could give you a sodium overdose.

Roads are getting gross and drivers losing control. Time to pull off the road and call it a night. I saw a sign for a Holiday Inn. I had never been in Michigan City, IN. But given the road conditions, I gave it a shot. Lucky me! The front desk team member was delightful and very helpful, providing a wonderful dining suggestion. Upon entering my room, I saw a wonderful handwritten note from housekeeping. WOW!! What a wonderful surprise. It reminded me of an innkeeper's pride and ownership. I'm lucky to recall their former: Holiday Inn is # 1 in people pleasing! My room was great and the facility is about two years old. Snow does bring unexpected gifts.

He sent an email as soon as our room was ready and even allowed us to check in several hours earlier. He gave suggestions on eating locations. Definitely a great experience.

Friendly Owners, Clean Room & Good Location
Reviewed By Angela SOwners were accommodating with our late check in. When asked, he had recommendations for great local restaurants (we were not disappointed!). Owner went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. I was most impressed because the first hotel I tried to book was full. When I asked if he could recommend another hotel in the area, he named Al & Sally's. We just needed a clean, safe place to sleep & shower, and we found it there. We will definitely stay there next time we come to town.
