No housekeeping

Beware, they do not provide housekeeping. Dust and sand got into the room, we could not get anyone to come and clean the room. My husband had to take the garbage every evening. Miserable stay. Avoid this place by all means!

Yikes

Reviewed By biggbirdd

Tried to dry a blanket we had washed partially in the sink and the dryers are both broke down we got our money back thank goodness but the office is closed at 7:30 p.m. I wanted to get a hot tea no dice. Next door is another hotel that houses homeless druggies. Apparently they come over here and do their laundry while it looks like it the laundry room is a filthy mess doesn't look like it's been cleaned in forever and both dryers are broke. It is a good location I won't be staying again. When you first pull up it's very intimidating to see an armed guard wandering the parking lot along with sketchy people. Lock your car hide your valuables

Clean and simple overnight stay

Reviewed By phvi2617

This is a fairly standard Motel 6--no frills, but clean and inexpensive. The rooms are tiny and the bed wasn't super comfortable, but it was quiet and I got a good night's rest. There was a minifridge, but no microwave. The location is right off Hwy 1, next door to a Denny's. Service was very friendly, and it felt like a safe area. Pretty good for a quick stay.

Disappointed

Reviewed By Happiness600504

The moment I walked into this Holiday Inn Express, Tony at the front desk set the tone for our visit....horrible. I walked in very friendly. Gave him my last name for check in and he immediately told me the CC I had reserved with didn't go through and he was about to cancel my reservation. He said I was lucky I walked in when I did otherwise he was about to cancel us. So much for a nice warm welcome & thank you for choosing our hotel...not. I told him that the CC I had used to book had been stolen and I put a different CC with my app. He was rude and brushed me off. Our room was large but dated. The hide-a-bed was very uncomfortable for my teen, all coils & uncomfortable. The 2 queen beds were ok but squeeky. The room wasn't super clean. The shower curtain was broken and when we used the shower the handle to turn water to shower mode came off. Our in room phone did not work. I sent my son down to the lobby to get some extra sheets & pillows for the hide-a-bed, Tony only gave him 2 blankets. He said they didn't have any more pillows or sheets. Whaaaat??? You don't have extra sheets & pillows??? My husband then went down & asked Tony for the sheets & pillows & Tony said he would be up with some. 30 minutes later he arrived. Breakfast was horrible. Coffee grounds in our coffee. Very limited menu. Attendant to serve us was no where to be found, had to ask front desk for help. We have been traveling all week for our kids Spring break and staying in various hotels along the central coast of California and this hotel has been the worst. Do not book a room here. Very disappointing.

Nicer than your average Motel 6

Reviewed By JonMC2

Not up to par for your usual Comfort Inn, but better than the average Motel 6. Staff was friendly and helpful, but facility needs some TLC. Some basic maintenance could be done. Tub dripped, toilet ran, light fixture over mirror was rusty. Fit and finish was not done well. The mirror is wedged behind the new backsplash and the transition from floor to tile is missing grout. The bathroom was hairy and the carpet not well Vacuumed. Bathroom vent fan needs a good dusting/cleaning. Refrigerator only seemed to have 3 feet. Room 321. Breakfast was average, at best. Cereal, breads and pastries, egg patties, Sausage patties, bacon, apple & orange juice, make your own waffles, apples, bananas, and oranges. Coffee, tea, & hot water. Only saw half and half for creamer and couldn't find the Margarine/butter. Also had hard boiled eggs and yogurts. Breakfast area only seats about 22, so if they have a full house, it will be extremely over crowded. Works for a one night stay with the family.

Be aware that this hotel houses homeless individuals through a subsidized program. Has security, but I would still have concerns about staying there with children. Location is walking distance to beach.
