Reasonable hotel in a great setting with a good restaurant
Reviewed By natsm123This is a 3 *** hotel, and a good representation of one - but no more than that. Our room was a reasonable size, but smelt of cigarettes even though it stated that it was non smoking. The furniture was fine, the bed comfortable, the bathroom a little cramped and the main shower head didn't work and the water pressure wasn't great. The setting is lovely - very peaceful, and you can walk through some fields to a bit of beach area where there are good views on the Mont St Michel. Dinner was good - we had the basic menu which had good choices and the food was tasty, and our waiter was very attentive. Breakfast was OK - a reasonable selection. We stayed here to visit the Mont rather than being captive in the Mont village, and it was the right choice for us.

A great hotel near the Mont
Reviewed By ProfessorPlum2014This modern Mercure is very close to the Mont and exceptionally convenient to the tram that takes you out to the town. The restaurant has good food and a hard-working staff. Make sure you keep the access code that the hotel will text you shortly before arrival. You'll need it to pass the barrier with your car into the close-hotel zone. The text is not self-explanatory...something the hotel could easily fix.

Reviewed By Steve SVery good Ibis hotel In Granville Normandy. Staff v v welcoming and I had a nice clean standard Ibis room, dual aspect (smallish windows) overlooking the Marina. Plentiful public free car parking on site and it felt perfectly safe to leave the car. Breakfast Continental fare, fresh and buffet style. I’d 100% use it as base again to tour Normandy just be aware it’s about a two hour drive to the D Day beaches.

This former old mill, now a hotel, enjoys an unspoiled and relaxing place beside the Sélune, the small river that flows into the bay of Mont Saint Michel. Just 20 minutes from the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel, Ducey is a "village stopover" rich in history and typical of Normandy. Most rooms offer views of the river. They have quality equipment as well as a minibar, courtesy tray with kettle, wireless broadband connection, a flat-screen TV offering over 30 channels in several languages as well. Reviewed By jon23454I always stay here when in Cherbourg - a very comfortable hotel with welcoming and friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and most have great views over the harbour. Breakfast is varied and well prepared. Always an enjoyable stay.

Reviewed By vagabondafeliceThe day before we arrived we were sent a code to insert at the barrier to be able to reach the hotel. When you arrive in the area there are car parks as access to the Main Street is limited and only cars going to hotels or with passes can enter. We passed the general car parks and reached the barrier, inserted the code and drove to the hotel and parked in the car park there. The staff were very helpful and gave us information on how to reach Mont Saint Michel, bus times/ on foot etc, Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. In the morning we had breakfast in the downstairs breakfast room with both savoury and sweet food available. We had a very pleasant stay and the hotel was convenient located not far from the barrier that stops traffic from using the raised road which allows access to the Mont even at high tide.

Reviewed By Oliver SFairly nice place. Rooms very clean and spacious and all staff really friendly indeed. Bar drinks a little expensive. It’s a bit out of town which didn’t bother me but might bother others. Very quiet here may be even too quiet and shame they don’t do food as you have walk about 1km - 1.5km to the nearest decent restaurant. Overall very good though

Reviewed By 766ceciliepI went to the restaurant with my father. We were seated by the big panoramic window. This was not really necessary as they have failed to wash and clean the big window, even though it has been nice weather for days. The interior in the restaurant is similar to a cafeteria or a cafe at a highway rest stop. We both ordered a beer to start and before we even got to drink it, our starter was served. There is no structure for the waiters, what so ever. They haven’t been taught and how to manage guests in a restaurant. They tried their best, but I feel sorry for them, that they haven’t had any training and no ‘boss’ or head waiter was around to help the poor staff. The food was horrible and could easily have been served in for-mentioned cafeteria or highway rest stop. When there is a restaurant in such an amazing spot with a fabulous view overseeing Mont saint Michel, you have an obligation to have a standard. I will not recommend this place ever. Eat somewhere else.

Reviewed By francoisr783Ideally place in the center of the mont saint Michel we were disappointed by the restaurant with average food while we could have expect local “Agneau salé” or fresh fish. When you make your reservation ask for a room in the “annex” those are Indépendant room in the village more typical that in the hotel itself … WIFI will be poor but location worth it.
