Great Service and rooms
Reviewed By Tim OWe had a wonderful stay the Hotel, we had be traveling so much and it was so nice to relax at a comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for food and the sights. Very easy to walk to the shrine from here. Breakfast was nice and room service great. Our room had a tough time getting wifi, but we were there for prayer purposes and wifi usually detracts from that. Thanks so much.

She and her colleague were very helpful and helped us with our luggage as I was struggling with it. The guy at the reception went over and beyond to help us get around and advised us on places we could buy things. We ran out of bus fare and needed to get our currency changed. But he was very kind and offered us the change for our bus fares which we then returned after we got back to the hotel from our journey. Great staff . Very helpful. And this makes a lot of difference. Great location. I would definitely go back. Thanks to the lovely staff who made a difference!

I came to this Hotel from the moment I stepped on the facility I was already welcomed by the guest receptionist named Mario, though he was busy and just finished doing paper works for another guests before me he still managed to smile and welcome me and as a guest I felt his sincerity and kind gestures. One person too that I would never forget and want to applaud by going above and beyond his job was Joseph Tadesco, not sure if he is related to the owner of the hotel but for me I call him BFG ( Big friendly giant) since he is towering 6'3 gentleman. During my check-out Joseph helped me a lot for my COVID test since I am a US Citizen and required to have COVID test 24 hour before I land to the US. When I raised my concerned to Mr. Tadesco, He immediately booked me an appointment for the PCR test at the airport, spoke to a laboratory staff and gave me all the contact numbers and location of the testing facility at the airport. For less than 24 hours I was having problems booking appointments because of communication barrier. I could not thank Mr. Tadesco enough and when I was about to leave the hotel he even ran and gave me a bottle of water ! And how wonderful gesture is that.I thank him for his kindness. The Hotel is historical built in 1896 by the family of the visionary of Lourdes and the 19th century French Architecture is so elegant especially the dining area and the stairs are truly a gem. As a hodophile myself I've slept in many hotels in the world but Hotel Modene has the most fragrant room I ever stayed from the moment I opened the door the smell was relaxing and my room was immaculately clean. The hotel has it's own souvenir stores for catholic religious articles and you get a FREE pilgrim candle as guest. The hotel is a few minutes from the Basilica and everthing is 5 minutes away from the hotel ( restaurants, shops,pharmacies etc... ) it's a great location. For excellent service,friendly staff ( who speaks impeccable English),location, cleanliness, convinience and fragrant room I highly recommend Hotel Moderne and definitely I will return back and treat the hotel receptionists Italian ice cream again.

A Poorly Managed Hotel
Reviewed By Steve PThis is a poorly managed hotel. On the first night of a short stay, my wife and I were trapped between floors in Rive Droite’s small four-person lift for over an hour and a half. I suffer from claustrophobia; my wife has a heart condition. There was no evidence of an emergency procedure to respond to this situation. Thereafter, for obvious reasons, we climbed (slowly) the five floors to our room for the rest of our stay. There was no offer of a room on a lower floor. On two occasions, our door keys did not function, so there was more walking up and down. At check out, the manager made no offer to reduce our bill, but finally and grudgingly took off the price of our breakfasts. He argued bizarrely that the lift episode was the responsibility of the lift company and not the hotel. Then, to add insult to injury his parting words were, ‘I hope you won’t give us a bad review’. It is impossible to trust hotel management that denies its responsibilities to its guests. The one redeeming feature of the Rive Droite is the kindness of its female staff but, the lift episode aside, it is by no stretch of the imagination a four-star hotel.

Swift check in by Andreiv at Reception. (Apologies if I’ve spelt the name wrong) ? Fantastic spread at breakfast, hot and cold food, coffee, tea, juices and a wide selection of other foods. Room with balcony overlooking the river. Beds super comfortable, hair dryer & toiletries supplied. Welcome gift - nice touch and the item that most travelers ask for, the much wanted kettle along with coffee, tea, milk & sugar supplied. Rooms cleaned very well. Staff all round friendly and courteous. A super stay, highly recommended. Many thanks.
