Wonderful hosts who could not have done more for us. Huge terrace with plenty of furniture, wonderful to watch the sun go down. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By helenehansenA fantastic experience. Make sure you ask for a room with a view of the Chambord castle. The hotel personnel were courteous and efficient; bikes materialized almost the moment we asked about them. The food was fantastic - and I am very particular. The asparagus were crisp, the crudo flavorful and impeccably fresh, the quinoa salad delicious, the apple desert light and sophisticated, the tatin rich and decadent. The salmon was good but not as good as the rest. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The restaurant staff was professional but seemed overworked. Drawbacks : almost none, although were it not for the view of the castle, the room - while comfortable and clean - would have felt a little clinical.

Really great hotel to stay
Reviewed By cvsdmStayed there to be close to the zoo, the staff was very welcoming and everything was easy and quick. The room was very clean and with air conditionner which was amazing since it was really hot outside and it allowed us to sleep tight. The breakfast buffet was really good too and gave us a good meal before starting a long day at the zoo. Will probably come back when I have the opportunity.

We loved the majestic entrance with the golden deer and the welcoming team was really nice! The communicating rooms for parents and teenagers were perfect : a bathroom and toilets for each, comfortable new beds and much space to feel cosy. It was great to enjoy a drink in a good atmosphere at the bar in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely fantastic, healthy and delicious! We'll come back for sure... because we didn't have time enough to enjoy the terrace outside and the swimmingpool! I highly recommend a stay.

Reviewed By YorkshireAviatorThe atrium which features so prominently in hotel pictures only affects less than a third of the rooms- most are on normal corridors and separated from the atrium by automatic fire doors.Although quite a big hotel,rooms are easily reached, with four staircases and two lifts.The location is quite near the old town ,but with superb road access and a choice if two ,mostly free, public car parks or the ground level( building on a slope) hotel garage. There was an excellent breakfast in a tranquil first floor room,well away from the people in a hurry having coffee and no real food in the bar. I had requested a room with a bath,and away from the atrium.This was provided,and was above the usual Mercure standard.The hotel is well carpeted and thee was no noise from above or below,nor from adjacent rooms.Equipment level was very good,and the aircon worked,Window and blackout was perfect. The sole difficulty I had was a very hot and uncomfortable bed.This was the result of putting a non- breathable mattress cover on one if those currently fashionable American style “pillow- top” mattresses.Fortunately,this problem can quickly be corrected.

Prices higher in this summer period, I usually use off season en route back to UK from South. Super large car park, safe, right in front of hotel. Large enough for big car trailer.

The provided self-check in details were clear and easy to understand, and the room was nice and cold (in the midst of a heatwave). Though small, it was perfect for a one night stay for two adults with a bag each, and the bathroom was clean also. The room was very quiet, even though located near a motorway, and highly suitable for our needs.

For a 2 star hotel it offers very spacious rooms with all the extras you would expect from a higher rating: Extra pillows,free WiFi, a desk and chair, bath and a large free car park. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there is a very good one-Chez Jaques just across the road. The breakfast was good and the prices reasonable. A very friendly welcome and lovely staff.
