Great location in Palais city. Good service, although service in English limited. Clean rooms, though pretty small ones. Breakfast was pretty average, continental with limited selection. Could visit again.

Nice hotel, awesome location

Reviewed By Valerie T

This is a small simple hotel with friendly stuff and good location with the view on the port and citadel. The room on the 2nd floor was cute, nothing to special but has a good vibe to it. In general it was clean but I noticed that the there was dust on thing that you don't really pay attention to like radiator. We came on the off season and I think there were only 3 rooms occupied, therefore, it was really peaceful and quiet. We never came across other visitors even during breakfast. But I'm sure it gets super busy during summer. The breakfast is simply light, good, typically French. Overall the staff was smiley and helpful.

Lovely room, lethal shower

Reviewed By Gnomes37

We stayed in mid June, room 4, for 2 nights. The room was reasonably spacious and had been subject to a fairly recent refurbishment which was very well done. Equally, there was a well equipped and modern bathroom(shower). Our principal cause for concern was the shower floor which was a death trap. We both almost fell over at least twice as it was so slippy. We did report this on departure with a recommendation to make it safe with either an anti slip coating or rubber mat etc.. An elderly person could end up with something broken or perhaps worse. The breakfast choice, which was very bread orientated, was a little disappointing.

Basic Bed in a Beautiful Location

Reviewed By krystallee6363

The hotel itself is pretty basic, but comfortable enough. The only room available was a larger one that included an extra room with bunk beds - as I was travelling alone it was a bit annoying having to pay the extra for this so I'd highly recommend booking ahead. The wifi didn't work the entire time I was there (my guess would be that my room was out of range) and the whole room reeked of fish, whether the windows were opened or closed. It did have a neat little heater though that worked brilliantly. There was no elevator and several flights of narrow stairs, so be prepared for that. There's rarely anyone at reception, and be prepared to wait a while if they're in conversation with someone else. They seemed a bit rude and abrupt to me, but I suspect that was more of a cultural difference than actual lack of hospitality. The staff were lovely at breakfast, and I found it to be great value. It was also such a delight sipping coffee while looking out over the bay; such a gorgeous, serene place, even with the breakfast bustle. Not the greatest place if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, but why would you when the island itself is so beautiful? This place provides a bed and a shower, and that was enough for me.

Perfect retreat on Belle-Ile

We stayed four nights in one of the large rooms with access to the garden. Jean-Marc and Pauline are very friendly and helpful hosts and gave us a lot of hints for nice beaches and good restaurants. We enjoyed the comfort and the atmosphere in that laid back Hotel - close to Le Palais, but far away from the busy traffic within the harbor. We certainly would chose Le Clos Fleuri again for our next visit on Belle-Ile. Gerald and Isa.

We have discovered VVF last winter in Montchavin-La-Plagne where we went for ski and we loved it! There we were given a recommendation for summer holidays in VVF in Belle-Ile-en-Mer. And it was totally great! Staff is excellent! Kid's clubs are great! Kids spent all the time outside enjoying beautiful weather and nature that island offers you. All the animators were super nice and smiley. Special thank you to Adelie & Vincent as they were the ones taking care of our kids:) While kids are enjoying with peers, parents could do hiking/biking tours organised by the club. Our guide, Arona, was really super nice and great and hiking with him for hours was a great pleasure. Resto was really great and menu was excellent! Paul, Brice and Sam were doing everything to make sure that their guests are enjoying food and the stay! I found planned weekly menu that is served a-la-carte a great option rather than having a buffet taking into account COVID measures. Weekly BBQ night was lots of fun for everyone! And the best of the best is the director of the whole setup - Sherif! He made sure that everyone is happy and did his best to please everyone while respecting the rules. We have been lucky to participate in last Friday (before school starts) fire party on the beach that was just marvellous! Huge fire, marshmallow for kids, french songs on guitar playing with sounding ocean just next by - unforgettable! I would also want to add only one thing to improve... We found that rooms were not very clean. We have spent few hours cleaning it ourselves upon arrival to make it comfortable for us to live in. Bed sheets though were super clean and super white! And may be as a recommendation for the laundry/cloth drying machines - why not to sell jetons on reception. As changing money to have coins of 2 and 1 eur was a bit of an adventure for us. And the part i loved the best was that village doesn't have TV and WiFi in the rooms! (I must add that upon arrival none of us didn't think so:) So you and the kids have no choice but to be outside or to read! such a rare opportunity in our times. So to sum up i recommend this place to everyone who loves nature and ocean! We enjoyed every single minute of our stay! And VVF staff were making sure that we do! And more of it, we are already planning our next year's stay there for 3 weeks this time!

Save Your Monay

We will not be back. We paid over 300e for a room and received about 75 euros in service. We notified the hotel of our arrival and requested a shuttle. The shuttle was waiting when we left the ferry, but the shuttle was over booked (not enough seats for everyone) and we were informed our room was not ready. They suggested we walk around the village and then walk to the hotel in an hour. We told them we would just ride to the hotel. At the hotel, we were informed that our room still wasn't ready and they would call us. After 90 minutes, we still hadn't been called. We went to the front desk and the front desk clerk had to run somewhere to check to see if our room was ready. We finally checked in. The room was large and nice. The view from the terrace was spectacular. But, the WIFI does not work in the rooms,. There isn't a TV and the tub only had a shower wand (now shower). The grounds were very nice and the museum interesting, but not large. Breakfast was a disorganized disaster. We arrived with 2 other parties. The party before us and the party after us were both seated. We were left to stand. After 15 minutes, we seated ourselves as opposed to standing in a hallway as breakfast servers passed by us. After about 20 minutes, I finally tracked down someone to help us. The items very limited. For the price of 19euro a piece, we received about 5 euro of food. The server who finally helped was very nice. They seemed to be under staffed and had no clear system for checking people in despite requiring a breakfast reservation. We have stayed many places as my husband travels for work about 200 days a year (pre Covid). This was one of the most disappointing stays, ever. The town had many small, quaint hotels. Next time, we will choose one of those.
