Reviewed By Paul CWe had a room with kitchenette in the annex. It was spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely views and a pleasant balcony. We were warmly received. The hotel speak english. We had chosen the hotel because we had eaten there before. The food was a delight. Buffet breakfast was very good with a wide selection of good quality items. Dinners were superb. The food is obviously freshly prepared and of a high quality. The service was always prompt and friendly. Do not eat lunch because you will never manage dinner if you do. The Tartiflette is magnificent. The hotel prepared cured meats are wonderful. They even have chocolate mousse every night as a desert!! The swimming pool is good. If it should rain you can get to the main hotel from the annex by tunnel.

Reviewed By hogenboom68Warm welcome by The owner. Hospitality is written in his gene’s. Healthy and orginAl menu’s, great coffee, bfast. Great place to stay close to the ‘action’ of Chatel and pistes (to Avoriaz). 1,5 hours drive from Geneva airport with plenty of parkingspace. Cosy lounge area with plenty of books to read or drink a good glass of wine (very decent Merlot house red!) Sauna, TV room with the Dutch and foreign channels. Nice cosy rooms with brand new bathrooms (I love the rainshower!) wifi needs a boost! Competitive pricing. We will be back!

Near Geneva, life is better in a mountain valley
Reviewed By RobertitoLWe came upon La Chapelle d'Abandance because it is on the GR 5 hiking trail through the French Alps. After walking eight hours and still not to town, we hitched a ride with people we met at Chalets de Bise, a popular dairy farm high in the mountains where people go to watch the cows come home in the afternoon, sample home-made cheese, and have a beer. To be more precise, we were sweaty, exhausted,and could hardly take another step when we walked into the hotel. It was instantly our oasis. We were welcomed, escorted to our rooms, offered any help we needed. The rooms are decorated in keeping with the chalet architecture of the town, well appointed, very clean and comfortable. We were so tired we never even got to the indoor swimming pool. Dinner and breakfast were great, and a walk around town before starting out again on the trail in the morning showed a very manicured, civilized ski resort that has everything you need for a nice summer stay as well.

They have 5* quality hotel beds and linen with lots of little extras. In winter La Ferme offers the perfect retreat for the discerning skier and is fully catered. In summer the rooms are available on a B&B or 1/2 board basis .
Fantastic catered chalet
Reviewed By Kelly MWe had a fantastic week with Christine and Max (the dog) over christmas. We are a family with 2 kids, 14 and 7 years and they couldn’t rate their stay with Christine any highly either. They had, as did we a very spacious bedroom and wonderfully large on-suite. We arrived on the 19th December and until we left on the 26th, we had the perfect stay, from the wonderful croissants, fruit, eggs etc at breakfast, home baked cakes in the afternoon and 3 course meal in the evening, it was perfect. Christine has all the information on the area you could ever need, and as novice skiers gave great advice for where best to ski. Our two chefs Oscar and Elle-Louise were incredible and every meal we had was a real treat - I could not fault it at all. We were very lucky with the weather, great snow and sunshine the whole week. We could not recommend La Ferme du Chateau highly enough, Christine and her team will ensure you have a holiday you’ll not forget.

Reviewed By Voyager779595The pizzas in this place were delicious. We were 13 people looking for an evening meal, we booked ahead and once we arrived were given a private dining room at the back. We were therefore able to have a lot of fun without disturbing other diners.

Built in traditional wooden style, Chalet Blanc was designed specifically with our guests’ comfort in mind. All of the five bedrooms are spacious and luxurious with full en-suite facilities. Two of these bedrooms have mezzanine levels which can accommodate a further 2 people – great for the kids or even adults who wish to spread out a bit! High thread-count sheets on deep comfortable beds, Molton Brown toiletries, Bluetooth speakers in every room and complimentary gifts on arrival all serve to provide our guests with the wonderful chalet experience our returning guests have come to enjoy. The main living areas of the chalet have been decorated beautifully and designed to allow for multiple activities to take place without getting in each other’s way. The enormous lounge with its roaring log fire, deep and comfy sofas and state of the art media system allows our guests the chance to find a quiet corner if they wish or to share a glass or two around the fire with friends and family. The dining table can seat up to 20 people and provides the perfect setting for your dining experience. There is a sunken hot-tub on the terrace with amazing views down the valley plus a sauna inside to help soothe away aching muscles after a hard day on the slopes. Additionally, we will pre-arrange your transfers, if you need them, ski passes, lessons and ski hire so you have nothing to worry about on arrival except how best to relax before your first big day on the slopes!

Breakfast is with fresh produce that the owners make themselves like the bread, jams, yogurt etc. Simple but Delicious. The attic has a small kitchen for general use. Balconies have view of mountains and sound of the stream in front. Definitely recommended.
