Excellent location, spotless rooms

Reviewed By ukjacek

This hotel is perfectly positioned, being under 5 minutes walk from Shinsaibashi station and shopping centre, and 10 minutes walk from Dotonbori. The rooms are compact, but spotlessly clean. The staff are wonderfully helpful and efficient. Lots of freebies available such as pocket wifi rental, ramen tasting and cookery demonstrations. We will certainly stay there again.

Great Stay and Spot On Location

Reviewed By globetrotterswannebe

We stayed here recently with family of 4 ( 2 young kids of 10 and 7 yo) during a recent visit to Osaka. Our primary focus was Universal, although we only visited Universal for several days and did some other excursions. We found the hotel to be a great stay and would highly recommend it. It's all about location here as hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to Universal front gate and across the street is the subway/train station to explore all of Osaka and also Universal Street Walk. Hotel was very clean and although I'm not a fan of big corporate hotels, this stay felt more family oriented. They have a Lawson's downstairs which was great. We opted to pay for their breakfast which was good. Stay was expensive however and I think we paid over $400 USD per night.... so you get what you pay for..... Room was large with big bathroom. Came with fridge and safe. Highly recommend this hotel on your next stay.

Brilliant

My buddy and I used Hotel Port Vita as put accomodation when spending 9 day in Japan this month and couldn't have been happier. It was perfectly located for a visit to USJ just a 5 minute walk away and City Walk where there you can find both local and western styles food (stick local!) It was only 3 train stops to the Osaka Loop Line which served the most popular locations in the Kansai area. This included Osaka itself, Kyoto and Nara. The furthest of which was about an hour away. It was also only about 3 hours to Tokyo. The hotel room itself was spacious and very well equipped. The staff were brilliant and spoke very good English (we did try basic communication in Japanese) I wouldn't hesitate to stay again here even if we didn't intend on going to Universal Studios. Thank you so much to the staff who were exceptional polite throughout our stay

A great hotel in a beautiful city

Reviewed By Amyers01

The hotel was in a nice quiet street. The hotel staff were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. Like most Japanese hotels the rooms are quite small and you will need to double check the number of beds when you book for three people. I have a four year old who is quite noisy but the staff were very considerate. The breakfast was very good with a great selection. The breakfast is worth including in your stay.

Comfortable, harbourside and close to restaurants and shopping

Reviewed By alexanderjay2017

Comfortable, pretty-well-appointed bedrooms. Quality soaps which left skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Huge TV with pre-dedicated channels for Netflix and YouTube. Handy variety of charging/hooking-up adapters for various USB/etc dependent gadgets. Room had a nice balcony + chairs looking out over a section of the harbour toward the Harborland Mosaic restaurant and boutique complex. Ample selection of international / Japanese items on breakfast buffet menu in a large set of rooms generally looking out over the harbour. Staff pleasant, courteous and efficient. Not quite as prestigious or ritzy, perhaps, as the nearby Hotel Okura (have been lucky enough to stay at both), but a more lively and cosmopolitan feel. The spacious central atrium also gives it a lighter and airier atmosphere. You can book and take a 2-hour + evening dinner cruise around Kobe 'bay' at the terminal one floor down from the hotel lobby, although you can book a similar type of cruise from the terminal at the Mosaic complex a short walk away. Kobe Port Tower is a very short walk from the hotel entrance. Finally, at any time of year, but especially from late spring through autumn (I would imagine; I visited in early December), the Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Ropeway are really worth a visit -more so, perhaps, than anything else in Kobe. Take the hotel's free shuttle bus up to the shinkansen (bullet-train) station and follow the signs for the cable car (about a five-minute walk). Take the cable car all the way to the top (past the intermediate stop) and stroll down a wonderful winding path past all manner of fragrant herbs and flowers, with mountain views over Kobe, the sea, and beyond... There are plenty of play areas for children (who basically have plenty of fun just running down the slopes), and quite a few hammocks laid out where you can sunbathe and snooze -a treat in the early winter sunshine, before twisting yourself inside out as you try to get out of the hammock and you suddenly find yourself on the ground.

I want to go back! The room was spacious with a nice smell of tatami mats, a clean bed, and a clean bath with a Miraburu shower head. The room was spacious with a nice smell of tatami mats, clean bed, clean bath, and the shower head was Miraburu, which I was very happy to use. The bathroom was clean and the shower head was miraculous. The packaging of the toothbrushes and hair elastics was very cute. In addition, the persimmon leaf tea from the vending machine in the hotel and the ice cream (almost like sorbet) made with ingredients from Nara Prefecture, which I bought after taking a hot bath, are delicious. The drip coffee in the room is also from a coffee roaster in Nara Prefecture, making it a luxurious space full of the charm of Nara Prefecture. I'm sorry for the long preamble, but the food! It's superb! We had the "Special Monzen Kaiseki". I was told that it was supervised by Mr. Kandagawa, and it was a feast for the eyes and the palate, perfectly matched with the local beer and sake. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with smiles, and the timing of the food delivery was very good, making us feel very comfortable. The menu changes every month, so I am looking forward to the next one. Lastly, the Horyuji tour was excellent. Thank you, Mr. Nakae. I couldn't make it to the 5:00 p.m. lecture this time, so I would like to attend the next one. The inn also has a large bathhouse, souvenir shop, and many other attractions that I can't even begin to describe.

The hotel is a big convention centre with a lot of tourists from around the world. It is a very big building and you can’t miss it. The hotel was nice and it did a job for a nights stay but the room was very basic and had tired furnishings. It also advertises that it had a pool, but this was closed. The hotel also advertised a gym for guests but this was an extra charge which wasn’t advertised when booking the hotel via hotels.com. There is a free shuttle bus which was handy to head to Osaka station as it is quite a walk otherwise.
